Azuka Theatre's 2014-15 to Include 'WATSON INTELLIGENCE,' MOON CAVE & More

Azuka Theatre kicks off its 15th season with the Philadelphia Premiere of a 2014 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, continues with a World Premiere by the theatre's current playwright in residence, and closes with another Philadelphia Premiere. Azuka performs on its home stage at the Off-Broad Street Theater at First Baptist Church 1636 Sansom Street. Subscriptions are $45-$75. There is a $35 subscription available for patrons 35 and under. 2014 Barrymore Award Nominees Announced by Theatre Philadelphia

Theatre Philadelphia is thrilled to announce the nominees for the 2014 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre, including over 140 total nominations spanning 26 categories. The all-new Barrymore Awards Ceremony will be held Monday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. at The Merriam Theater at 250 S. Broad Street, immediately followed by an After-Party in the Commonwealth Plaza at The Kimmel Center.

PlayPenn Announces Lineup for 2014 New Play Conference

PlayPenn, Philadelphia's nationally recognized professional new play development organization, announces the directors, dramaturgs, actors and designers that will participate in its 10th annual New Play Development Conference. Held from July 6 - July 27 at the Adrienne Theater (2030 Sansom Street) in Philadelphia, the Conference includes three weeks of intensive work along with staged readings open to the public of six new plays.

Walnut Street Theatre's 2013-2014 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with the Olivier Award-winner for Best Comedy, THE RISE AND FALL OF LITTLE VOICE. Written by Jim Cartwright, and directed by Dan Olmstead, the production opens tomorrow, March 27th and continues through April 13th in the Walnut's Independence Studio on 3. Theatre Horizon to Present CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION, 2/20-3/16

Theatre Horizon continues its season with the Philadelphia area premiere of Annie Baker's Circle Mirror Transformation. This Obie Award winning play runs February 20-March 16. HENRY V Extends at Lantern Theater Through April 21

Lantern Theater Company's critically acclaimed production of William Shakespeare's Henry V will be extended an additional week through Sunday, April 21 to accommodate audience demand, the fourth consecutive production of the season to be extended.

Lantern Theater Extends NEW JERUSALEM thru 9/30

Lantern Theater Company announces a one-week extension of its successful remount of New Jerusalem, The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza at Talmud Torah Congregation: Amsterdam, July 27, 1656 by award-winning playwright David Ives and directed by Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon. New Jerusalem will now run through September 30, 2012.

Lantern Theater Company will open its 2012/13 season with a pair of plays by David Ives: The Liar, an adaptation of the French comedy classic by Pierre Corneille, and a limited return engagement of New Jerusalem, The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza at Talmud Torah Congregation: Amsterdam, July 27, 1656, which last fall played to sold out houses and was extended twice to meet demand, quickly becoming the best-selling production in the Lantern's history.

The Lantern Announces 2012/13 Season to Include NEW JERUSALEM, HENRY V, HEROES

Now in the midst of a record-breaking year, Lantern Theater Company announces the productions scheduled for its 2012/13 season. The Lantern opens its 19th season with a remount of David Ives' New Jerusalem, The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza at Talmud Torah Congregation: Amsterdam, July 27, 1656, the best-selling play in the company's history and featuring the original cast and creative team from the original 2011 production. This limited return engagement is followed by the Philadelphia premiere of The Liar, also by Ives, a sophisticated comedy of lies and love adapted from the French play by Pierre Corneille. Mid-season, the Lantern completes Martin McDonagh's Leenane Trilogy (A Skull in Connemara, The Lonesome West) with the darkly comic The Beauty Queen of Leenane. Lantern Associate Artistic Director Kathryn MacMillan will direct both The Liar and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. In the spring, Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon directs Henry V, William Shakespeare's epic journey through royal courts and battlefields. The season concludes with Heroes, a playful, bawdy, and heartbreakingly funny comedy by Tom Stoppard, adapted from Gerald Sibleyras' Le Vent De Peupliers and directed by Lantern affiliated artist M. Craig Getting.
