The nominees for THE 45TH NAACP IMAGE AWARDS were announced today during a live press conference at the TV One presentation to the Television Critics Association during its Winter 2014 Press Tour in Pasadena, CA. David Oyelowo ('Lee Daniels' 'The Butler'), Joe Morton (ABC's 'Scandal'), Keke Palmer (VH1's 'CrazySexyCool'), Bresha Webb (TV One's 'Love That Girl') and Gina Torres (USA's 'Suits') announced the categories and nominees with NAACP Image Awards Committee Chairman, Leonard James and President and CEO of TV One, Alfred Liggins.

New York Wine Festivals has announced their 5th Annual NYC Winter Wine Festival at the Best Buy Theater on Saturday, February 8, 2014. The Times Square tasting event will feature 250+ wines selected by the experts at Vintry Fine Wines, light accompaniments of pasta, artisan breads, cheeses and hors d'oeuvres, plus sampling tables from area artisan food companies. Attendees will enjoy live contemporary jazz performances during each tasting session by 2013 Smooth Jazz Keyboardist of the Year Brian Simpson and his band, and will also get to take home a luxe wine glass after the tasting.

Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return to Bemelmans at The Carlyle Hotel this month with their evening of swinging standards. The two performers, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the wildly popular open mic, Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. St. Armands Art Festival Celebrates 25th Anniversary This Fall

St. Armands Art Festival returns with two full days of art, live music, and a free giveaway in honor of its 25th anniversary. This signature, nationally ranked juried outdoor art affair is scheduled for November 9 - 10, 2013. Festival promoter Howard Alan Events has produced this popular show for the past 25 years drawing the finest talent in the country and attracting locals and tourists alike who look forward to the vast array of original artwork on display and for sale. A portion of the proceeds benefits the St. Armands Circle Association. Admission is free and open to the public.
'We are thrilled to reach this milestone,' says festival promoter Howard Alan. 'We have been bringing the best and brightest artists to St. Armands for the past 25 years, making sure the show offers a wide range of unique handmade artwork; I believe that is the key to our success and the show's longevity.'
An Art Giveaway will give festival patrons an opportunity to win original artwork by participating artist Murf. The prize, a 32' x 36' framed, hand embellished Giclée of 'When the Moon Was High,' valued at $900, will be on display at his booth throughout the weekend where registration will also take place. Murf's multi-dimensional mixed media pieces are popular in the U.S. and abroad. His designs have been added to the collections of famous jazz musicians and other public figures, including David Sanborn, Richard Elliot, Kenny Rankin, Dave Koz and President Clinton. CircuSoul Yoga Studio will be on site, located at the center of the park, presenting the art of yoga. They will be doing demonstrations on their aerial yoga rig, as well as hosting yoga and meditation sessions throughout the day. The festival features more than 200 of the nation's leading artists as well as top local and regional talent with their finest work. The artists will line St. Armands Circle as well as South Boulevard of the Presidents with their professional display booths, transforming this popular shopping and dining destination into a first-class outdoor art gallery.
The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity, will be present for the duration of the festival, available to discuss their art and inspiration. The event appeals to families, art enthusiasts and buyers looking to add to their collections.

Now celebrating its 16th anniversary, this year's Dave Koz and Friends Christmas Tour will feature renowned singer Oleta Adams, who first came to prominence when Tears for Fears asked her to appear on their The Seeds of Love album and who has released eight acclaimed CDs of her own; Jonathan Butler, who was the first black artist played on white stations in his native South Africa and has since earned accolades in the R&B, contemporary jazz, and gospel fields; and Japanese-born pianist/composer/producer Keiko Matsui, who has shared the stage with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Miles Davis.
