Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) has just announced the cast for the first new play of Roundabout Underground's newly expanded 2016-2017 season. The world-premiere production of Kingdom Come by Jenny Rachel Weiner will be directed by Kip Fagan, as part of Roundabout's 50th Anniversary Season, and will feature Brooke Bloom (Layne), Carmen M. Herlihy (Samantha Carlin), Alex Hernandez (Dominick Aquendo), Socorro Santiago (Delores Aquendo) and Stephanie Styles (Suz).

Puerto Rican performer Ektor Rivera - winner of the Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Simon Fuller reality series 'Q'Viva! The Chosen' - recently made his Broadway debut as Emilio Estefan in ON YOUR FEET!, the new Broadway musical based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY winning international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, 19-time GRAMMY winning producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan. Producers James L. Nederlander, Estefan Enterprises, Inc and Bernie Yuman just announced that acclaimed Puerto Rican performer Ektor Rivera - winner of the Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Simon Fuller reality series 'Q'Viva! Rivera joins Theater World Award-winning Cuban-American actress Ana Villafañe, named one of The Hollywood Reporter's top Broadway Breakout Stars of the Year for her 'star-is-born, supernova debut' (Deadline) as Gloria Estefan. 

Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar, 'Ugly Betty') will serve as host of the 61st Annual Drama Desk Awards tonight, June 5, 2016 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street).

Broadway's critically-acclaimed musical A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN, a music-filled live show celebrating Janis Joplin and her biggest musical influences, brings its national tour to Nashville, performing at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center's James K. Polk Theater today, April 15 and tomorrow, April 16, 2016.

Gloria Estefan has sold over 100 million records and sold out stadiums around the world, they're about to sell some more. BroadwayWorld has just confirmed that the cast on ON YOUR FEET! will record a live album today. There's no word yet on when the album will be available, but check back here at BroadwayWorld for updates!

Maurice Hines Tappin' Thru Life at New World Stages (340 W. 50th Street) will play its final performance this Sunday, February 21st. At the time of closing the show will have played 21 previews and 46 performances.

MAURICE HINES TAPPIN' THRU LIFE is a swinging, song and dance musical that celebrates the astonishing showmanship of one of the last great tap dancers of a by-gone era still working today and whose collaborators were a jaw-dropping, who's who of theatre, music, film and television. Co-starring the fierce tap dancing Manzari brothers and the all female vivacious Diva Jazz Orchestra, the show is directed by Jeff Calhoun (Newsies, Deaf West's Big River, Grease). Performances began December 23rd at New World Stages (340 W. 50th Street), and opened January 11th. Legendary Broadway star Chita Rivera recently visited Hines after the show - check out photos below!
