On Monday, September 13 at 7:00 & 9:30 PM, HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL is making its New York City debut with a concert at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. The concert will feature songs from the upcoming musical with a full band. Some of Broadway's greats will lend their voices for this special evening. Rumors surrounding the possibility of GLEE representation on Broadway may in fact be true, if GLEE creator Ryan Murphy is to be understood correctly. At the Eat Pray Love premiere in New York City this Week Murphy revealed to the New York Daily News of a GLEE stage adaptation: it is 'definitely' happening. 'I'm auditioning people now.' As for a potential cast: 'I don't know just yet...You'll see.'

GLEE star Mark Salling, who plays Puck on the hit show, will be releasing his new solo album, 'Pipe Dreams,' on October 12 under the banner of his own label, Pipe Dreams Records. The album, reports USMagazine, will have a 'classic rock 'n' roll, alternative music and a '60s folk-beat era sound.' Salling is said to be writing performing and producing each track on the disc. The first single, 'Higher Power,' was released on August 10.
As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, GLEE will feature a Britney Spears tribute episode in its second season, premiering September 21, 2010 on FOX. Says GLEE star Lea Michele of the episode: it's '15 music videos inside this episode, very much like the Madonna [tribute episode].' Heather Morris, who plays 'Brittany' on the show, will be playing Britney Spears in a dream sequence. To date, however, GLEE execs were mum on whether or not Spears herself would be making a cameo in the episode. Series creator Ryan Murphy has finally spilled the beans and revealed on Ryan Seacrest's radio show today that - yes - Spears would be appearing on the show.
Fresh off her stint in Hair, Annaleigh Ashford will lead the previously announced Heathers: The Musical concert at Joe's Pub alongside Jeremy Jordan on September 13, 2010. Ashford will protray Veronica Sawyer (played by Winona Ryder on screen), while Jeremy Jordan will play Jason Dean (played by Christian Slater in the film). Additional casting announcements are forthcoming.

GLEE creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy may be bringing his hit television musical comedy to the Great White Way, according to a report by The New York Times. As GLEE's success continues to grow, Murphy has continued to reach out and tackle new projects. His film adaptation of 'Eat Pray Love' with Julia Roberts hits theatres this month, and his name has recently been attached as a possible director for the upcoming WICKED film adaptation. Sony's co-chairwoman Amy Pascal is quoted as saying, 'I'll do anything Ryan wants.' There is no word on a possible timeline for a Broadway production of GLEE.
