Photo Flash: Artwork Revealed for BIG FISH on Broadway!

BIG FISH, a new musical based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the 2003 Columbia Pictures film written by John August, will open Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Broadway's Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street). Directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Contact, The Producers, The Scottsboro Boys), with music and lyrics by Grammy and Tony Award nominee Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, The Addams Family), a book by Grammy and BAFTA Award nominee John August (Frankenweenie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Big Fish begins previews on Broadway Thursday, September 5, 2013. Broadway-Bound BIG FISH Gets Developmental Workshop Mar. 12 - Apr. 8

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the musical adaptation of Tim Burton's BIG FISH, will hold a private industry reading next week in New York City. As previously announced, the show, which was initially aiming for Broadway in spring 2012, is now set to open in spring 2013.

Michael C. Hall to Star in BIG FISH on Broadway?

As reported by Variety, the Showtime network and actor Michael C. Hall, star of Showtime's hit series 'Dexter', have been locked in contract negotiations for several months. Now Variety reports that if an agreement can be successfully reached between the cable network and the actor, Hall would be allowed to star in the upcoming Broadway musical adaptation of Tim Burton's, BIG FISH.

Michael C. Hall in Talks to Lead BIG FISH on Broadway; Susan Stroman to Direct

According to Deadline.com, Broadway veteran Michael C. Hall is in negotiations to lead an upcoming Broaway production of BIG FISH. Susan Stroan will direct the stage adaptation of the Tim Burton film, which will feature music by Andrew Lippa. Hugh Jackman was originally rumored to star inthe production, but 'his movie schedule got in the way and the producers turned to Hall.'

Susan Stroman to Direct Broadway-Bound BIG FISH Musical Adaptation

The New York Times reports today that Susan Stromen will direct a musical adaptation of Tim Burton's film, Big Fish. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Hugh Jackman and Laura Benanti recently participated in a reading of the show. The musical is aiming for a spring 2012 Broadway opening. No word from the Times if either Jackman or Benanti are confirmed for the project. Additional creative team members have yet to be announced.

We have now learned that the show will play the Apollo Theatre in February.
