The Hollywood Pantages, a Nederlander Theatre, is proud to announce the addition of four new productions, all with strictly-limited engagements, during the 2016/2017 Winter season. The new lineup will include three Hollywood Pantages return engagements and one L.A. Premiere.

Trip of Love, New York's high-voltage 1960's Pop Music Spectacular, proudly welcomes Bahiyah Hibah to the company.  Starting May 24, Hibah assumes the role of 'Jennifer.' Hibah's Broadway credits include The Color Purple, The Little Mermaid, Rock of Ages, Memphis, Pal Joey, Evita, Chicago (Velma), After Midnight, and On The Twentieth Century.

MOTOWN is getting a new Smokey! Not only that, but the Daily Mail writes that the West End production of Motown the Musical is extending through October 2017. Obioma Ugoala will join the cast as 'Smokey Robinson' starting July 4, 2016.

Overall, there's a lot of mass appeal in this production, some fun musical moments, and opportunities for the entire family to visit the familiar and well-loved. Unfortunately, it simply pales in comparison to what we have seen before.

The North American tour of the new stage adaptation of THE WIZARD OF OZ will play the National Theatre for two weeks only, tonight, May 3, through May 15, 2016.

MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL is a jukebox musical that premiered on Broadway in April 2013, receiving four Tony Award nominations. Based on Berry Gordy's 1994 autobiography To Be Loved: The Music, the Magic, the Memories of Motown, it tells the story of how he founded and ran the Motown record label. It also touches on his relationships with Diana Ross (Allison Semmes), Marvin Gaye (Jarran Muse), and Smokey Robinson (Jesse Nager). Digging deep into the Motown catalog, the show contains over 60 songs. With that many songs one would expect a pretty thin book; however, by wisely placing most of the focus on Gordy (Chester Gregory) and Ross' relationship and the rise and fall of Motown, we are given a compelling portrait of both Gordy and the music industry. MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL is a celebration of the Motown sound… that sound that joined black and white America in ways nothing else has equaled before or since...that magical period in our past when we were invited to go dancing in the street to a brand new beat.

Single tickets to Lincoln Center Festival shows-highlights this year include legendary stars of Japan's all-female musical troupe, Takarazuka, in Takarazuka CHICAGO; Jonathan Pryce as Shylock in Shakespeare'sGlobe production of The Merchant of Venice; Balkan superstar Goran Bregovic and his raucous Wedding and Funeral Orchestra; and the National Ballet of Canada performances of Christopher Wheeldon's The Winter's Tale-will go on sale to Friends of Lincoln Center on April 1 and to the general public on April 11. The festival runs from Wednesday, July 13 through Sunday, July 31, 2016, with 49 performances by artists and ensembles from seven countries taking place in seven venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that tickets for the national tour of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016.

Last night (8 March 2016) marked the opening of the West End production of Motown the Musical. With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy,Motown the Musical is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright. SF Ballet has announced that it will return to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. with the Washington, D.C. premiere of Christopher Wheeldon's Cinderella, October 26-30. SF Ballet will present seven performances of the acclaimed, full-length production; the Company last performed at the prestigious venue in November 2012.
