AVENUE Q Partners with Pride to Benefit Point Foundation

The Tony Award winning and coming of age musical comedy, Avenue Q, will celebrate NYC PRIDE WEEKEND by donating $25 for every ticket purchased to Point Foundation, the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) students of merit.

New York, New York: National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce the first round of casting for the 28th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Today, October 27 and Friday, October 28, 2016 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The Festival will kick off on Wednesday, October 26 with its celebrated concert, The 46th Minute, which features songs from Festival shows you will not get to hear in the 45-minute presentation.

Broadway's Future Songbook Series -- presented by Arts and Artists at St. Paul -- just presented the songs of award-winning lyricist Jill Abramovitz. Produced and hosted by John Znidarsic, the concert featured performances by: Arielle Jacobs (Wicked), Lisa Howard (It Shoulda Been You), Alex Gemignani (Sunday in the Park With George), Jessica Vosk (Fiddler on the Roof), Kate Wetherhead (Clever Little Lies), Kevin Pariseau (Legally Blonde), Dana Steingold, F. Michael Haynie (Dogfight), Michael Winther (33 Variations).

Whether you know her as the increasingly complicated serial murderer 'A' on ABC Family's PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, or as half of 'Jamko' on CBS crime drama BLUE BLOODS, chances are, unless you are a dedicated musical theatre fan, you might not know that Vanessa Ray is a musical theatre girl at heart. Before joining the cast of soap opera AS THE WORLD TURNS, which jump-started her TV career, Vanessa starred in regional productions, national tours, and on Broadway in shows like FOOTLOOSE, SPELLING BEE, and HAIR. Along the way, she became friends with Broadway's favorite singing, dancing videographer Andrew Keenan-Bolger, whom we have to thank for a lot of these videos!

After six long years, the wait is finally over! The musical web series THE BATTERY'S DOWN, which wrapped up its final season in late 2009, has returned for a reunion special (which aired on Hulu earlier this week) and a Joe's Pub concert, with performances from original cast members (and some very special guests). After six long years, the wait is finally over! As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the musical web series The Battery's Down, which wrapped up its final season in late 2009, will return for a reunion special later this fall. The episode will premiere on Hulu October 20, along with a Joe's Pub concert that night with performances from original cast members (and some very special guests).

The York Theatre Company and its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, will present the new musical Cheer Wars with book & lyrics by Gordon Leary and music by Karlan Judd. TWO PERFORMANCES ONLY: Thursday, February 19 at 3:00 p.m. and Friday, February 20 at 12:00 p.m.at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The readings are open to the public with a suggested donation of $5.00.
