Next Theatre Company Announces 31st Anniversary Season

Next Theatre Company announces their 31st anniversary season main stage productions. The season includes one of the most talked about productions at the 2011 Humana Festival, Maple and Vine by Jordan Harrison and directed by Damon Kiely, the United States premiere of The Girl in the Yellow Dress by South African playwright Craig Higginson and directed by Joanie Schultz and the Midwest premiere of After the Revolution by Amy Herzog and directed by Kimberly Senior.

A.C.T. Announces RACE, 10/21-11/13

The American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) 2011-12 season continues with David Mamet's newest play, Race, directed by former CENTERSTAGE Artistic Director Irene Lewis. Fresh from a triumphant run on Broadway, Mamet's wicked and scathing courtroom comedy makes its West Coast premiere at A.C.T. With his trademark verbal pyrotechnics, Mamet unleashes two attorneys and the firm's young associate as they scramble to decide if they want to represent a wealthy white man accused of assaulting a black woman.

92Y Tribeca to Host Playwrights Horizons Season Discussion, 9/12

Playwrights Horizons and 92YTribeca have announced that they will present a panel discussion previewing the theater company's new season on Monday evening, September 12 at 7:30 PM at 92YTribeca (200 Hudson Street). Moderated by The New Yorker culture writer Michael Schulman, joined by Playwrights Horizons Artistic Director Tim Sanford, the panel discussion will feature all six writers from the theater company's 2011/2012 Season.

The English-Language Premiere of ALICE, OR THE SCOTTISH GRAVEDIGGERS Set for at Brooklyn’s Old Stone House, Opens 10/20

Theater company Polybe + Seats is proud to announce the premiere of the first-ever English translation of Rene Charles Guilbert de Pixérécourt's Alice, or the Scottish Gravediggers. This sinister 1829 French melodrama, translated by Daniel Gerould and directed by Artistic Director Jessica Brater, with additional scenes by Libby Emmons, Avi Glickstein, and Katya Schapiro, will have a limited engagement of 16 performances only beginning Thursday, October 20th as part of the company's year-long residency at the Old Stone House in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Day previously was at WME, where she represented the estate of Eugene O'Neill as well as playwrights Athol Fugard, Adam Bock, Jordan Harrison, Amy Herzog, Dan LeFranc and Nilaja Sun.
