Jonathan Groff may have been away from Broadway for a while, but this season he is taking the musical theatre community by storm. This spring he appeared in The Public Theater's breakthrough production of HAMILTON as King George III, a role he will follow to Broadway later this summer. He also appeared in a sold-out concert event of HOW TO SUCCEED, performed at London's Royal Festival Hall. Now, Groff is taking on the role of 'Gordon' in A NEW BRAIN, as part of ENCORES! Off-Center series.

Today we are talking to a Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist celebrated for his uniquely designed mainstages musicals showcasing a fiercely idiosyncratic style and flair all his own, the one and only William Finn. Outlining the new version of A NEW BRAIN set to be presented later this month at City Center as part of the Encores! Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) just announced the U.S. premiere of the new musical, AMERICAN PSYCHO, featuring a book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (2ST's Good Boys and True, 'Glee,' Broadway's Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark), music and lyrics by Grammy and Tony-Award Winner Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening), directed by Rupert Goold (Broadway's Macbeth with Patrick Stewart, ENRON). AMERICAN PSYCHO is based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis.

Director Michael Canzoniero has just completed principal shooting in 48 hours around NYC for “Making the Day,” a feature length dramedy about two actors trying to raise money for an independent film. Co-directed by Marco Ricco, Stuart Braunstein and Bennett Springsteel and produced by Nikolas Zasimczuk, “Making the Day” may be at least the first feature film with principal shooting to be shot around New York City in 48 hours.
