Third Space Presents THE BITTER TEARS OF PETRA VON KANT

The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant is Third Space's latest remix smash-up of theatrical form and style. When a new model, Karin, enters the home of famous fashion designer Petra von Kant, Petra's world-and career-rocket to manic heights. But in the midst of Petra's euphoria, her submissive assistant, Marlene, senses a threat. When Karin becomes a superstar, leaving everything behind, Marlene picks up the broken pieces. What Marlene does with those pieces will dictate the rest of her life. Featuring an all-female cast and directed by Benjamin Viertel, Third Space's The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant delves into the tortured connections between desire and power in an industry driven by consumption.

InterAct Theatre Kicks off the New Year with World Premiere of MARCUS/EMMA

What does it mean to be radical? InterAct Theatre Company presents a vision of two of America's wildest activist leaders, Marcus Garvey and Emma Goldman, in Mary Tuomanen's poignant, twisted, and darkly funny MARCUS/EMMA.  This gripping play could not be more relevant, challenging the audience to relate Garvey's and Goldman's subversive ideas surrounding tensions of race, gender, sexuality, culture, capitalism and socialism to our current political climate.  Tuomanen's voice is fresh and exciting -- a luminary in Philadelphia's arts scene, she was recently rated Best Theatre Talent 2015, by Philadelphia Magazine.

BWW Reviews: The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis' Gripping UNTIL THE FLOOD

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis continues their 50th season with the powerful and thought-provoking one person play UNTIL THE FLOOD by Dael Orlandersmith, who also stars. This is the world premier of a work specifically commissioned by The Rep. While focusing on the events surrounding and following the death of Michael Brown, who was shot by a policeman in Ferguson, MO, the characters we meet will no doubt resonate with people in many communities around the country. This is gripping theatre that gives us a group of composite characters who all affected in one way or another by the situation that occurred. It's also a must-see show that will have a profound effect on everyone who views it.
