Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced its stellar and far-ranging new 2014-2015 Thrivent Financial Broadway on Hennepin season, featuring Broadway's hottest Tony Award-winning shows, five Minnesota premieres and many classic favorites. Making their local debuts are Kinky Boots, winner of six 2013 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Pippin, the 2013 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical Revival and the record-breaking hit Motown The Musical. The season runs from August 2014 through August 2015 at the historic Orpheum, State and Pantages Theatres.

January will certainly heat up when celebrated cabaret performer Jamie deRoy brings a special edition of her Multi MAC Award-winning Variety Show, Jamie deRoy & friends, to Birdland (315 West 44th Street) on Monday, January 27th (7PM) for its acclaimed 'Broadway at Birdland Series.' Proceeds from the evening will benefit The Actors Fund.

The Hollywood Pantages, a Nederlander Theatre, reveals its lineup for the 2014-2015 SEASON, featuring six blockbuster productions currently playing to sold-out houses on Broadway and a new production of a beloved title.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented acclaimed singers Jenna Esposito and Jim Van Slyke in a sold-out celebration of the music of Connie Francis and Neil Sedaka in "Where The Hits Are: A Tribute to the Songs of Connie Francis and Neil Sedaka" on Monday, December 30. Fortune Esposito was musical director/guitarist, with David Crone on piano, Rob Broelmann on bass, Dan Weiner on drums, Frank Petrocelli on sax, and Kelly Esposito-Broelmann & Rob Langeder were on backup vocals. According to The New York Times, South Korean Broadway producer Kim Byeong-seok of entertainment company CJ E&M, who helped produce the two productions on Broadway, is interested in bringing Tony winner 'KINKY' and the recently closed 'FISH' abroad.

Join two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy nominated Michael Feinstein as he rings in the New Year with two special performances tonight, December 31 at 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. at Feinstein's at the Nikko (222 Mason Street, San Francisco). Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig have announced new leads for their smash hit musical Kinky Boots; Andy Kelso, who currently plays 'Harry', will take over the role of 'Charlie Price' on January 28, 2014 following Stark Sands' January 26 departure. Jeanna de Waal will join the cast as 'Lauren,' beginning March 4, 2014 (replacing Annaleigh Ashford, who leaves to join the cast of Showtime's 'Masters of Sex'), and Jake Odmark joins the ensemble in the roles previously played by Andy Kelso. As previously announced, Billy Porter, this year's Tony Award-winner for Best Actor in a Musical, will remain with Kinky Boots.
