Off-Bway Hit 'Tings Dey Happen' Extends Again, thru Dec.22

Culture Project today announced that it will once again extend the New York premiere of Tings Dey Happen, written and performed by Dan Hoyle and developed with and directed by Charlie Varon, through December 22.

Galati & Murakami Shake Berkeley Rep with 'after the quake'

This October, Berkeley is the epicenter of Bay Area drama when Tony Award-winning director Frank Galati brings after the quake to Berkeley Repertory Theatre; performed on the Thrust Stage beginning previews October 12, opening October 17 and runs through November 25.

Ethan Hawke Directs 'Things We Want' Off-Bway, Opens 11/7

The New Group proudly presents the world premiere of Things We Want by Jonathan Marc Sherman, directed by Ethan Hawke. Kicking off The New Group's 2007-2008 season, the production features Paul Dano, Peter Dinklage, Josh Hamilton and Zoe Kazan. This limited Off-Broadway engagement will play October 22 through December 15 at The New Group @ Theatre Row (The Acorn Theater/410 West 42nd Street). Things We Want will have its Official Opening Night on Wednesday, November 7 at 7PM.

Culture Project Welcomes Comedian Farsad in New Series 10/5

Culture Project has announced that Iranian-American comedian Negin Farsad will host a weekly comedy night of funny ladies, 'Dirty Immigrant Collective,' every Friday night at 10PM at Culture Project's SoHo space (55 Mercer Street), beginning October 5.

Smith's 'Good Heif' World Premieres at New Georges 10/6

New Georges, the OBIE-winning downtown theater company founded in 1992, will present the world premiere of American playwright Maggie Smith's peculiar fable Good Heif, a full-length play, directed by Sarah Cameron Sunde. Good Heif will be presented in SoHo at the Ohio Theatre. Previews begin October 6, and the official Opening Night will be Monday, October 8 at 7PM. Performances will run through Saturday, October 27.
