SPOKANE, CARNAGE et al. to Play The Alley Theatre in '10-'11

The Alley Theatre was founded over sixty years ago as Houston's theatre company. Daniel Beaty Stars In THROUGH THE NIGHT At Union Square Theatre

Producer Daryl Roth today announced that she will present Through the Night, the acclaimed solo show written and performed by Daniel Beaty, in an extended run Off Broadway, beginning performances September 10 at The Union Square Theatre.

RIALTO CHATTER: Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith to Lead STREETCAR on Broadway?

According to Michael Riedel this morning, Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith may be leading a production of Streetcar Named Desire on Broadway next year as Stanley and Stella, respectively. Reportedly, the pair have been approached by producers and are considering the possibility. Emily Mann will direct the production, which will be produced by Stephen Byrd. BECOMING NORMAN Set to Open at NoHo Arts Center for 18 Performances Only, 8/6-9/12

Raul Espinoza, It's in the Cards, and the NoHo Arts Center Ensemble have announced the world premiere of Becoming Norman in North Hollywood. This new solo show with original music, written and performed by Norman P. Dixon, will play one preview performance on Friday, August 6 at 8pm and is set to open at the NoHo Arts Center on Saturday, August 7 at 8pm. The engagement will run through Sunday, September 12 only.

OSF Features New Commissions From Diaz, Friedman, Galati, Hudes, Stew & Rodewald

At a press conference yesterday the Oregon Shakespeare Festival provided a comprehensive picture of the scope of new work underway over the next several season supported by grants totaling more than $800,000. OSF recently received a grant of $600,000 from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation over three years (2010-2012) for the decade-long commissioning, production, and public dialogue initiative American Revolutions: the United States History Cycle. The Edgerton Foundation of Los Angeles, California awarded OSF a four-year $200,000 grant to support the commissioning of five new American musicals, putting OSF in the unique position of creating new American musicals with a resident acting company.

TNT Greenlights FRANKLIN & BASH, Starring Gosselaar And Meyer

TNT has given the greenlight to the buddy lawyer series FRANKLIN & BASH, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar (NYPD Blue, TNT's Raising the Bar) and Breckin Meyer (Heroes). TNT has ordered 10 episodes of the series, which is produced by Four Sycamore Productions, Left Coast Productions and FanFare Productions in association Sony Pictures Television. FRANKLIN & BASH is executive-produced by Jamie Tarses (TNT's HawthoRNe, TBS's My Boys), Kevin Falls (Shark, The West Wing) and Bill Chais (Shark, Dirty Sexy Money). Falls and Chais wrote the pilot.
