The upcoming Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play You Can't Take It With begins previews on August 26, 2014, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street), with an opening night set for September 28, 2014. The production will be directed by six-time Tony Award-nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Scott Ellis (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Twelve Angry Men, 1776) and will play a 19-week limited engagement. The New York Humane Society and the show's Animal Trainer, Bill Berloni just brought kittens over to the rehearsal studio for Scott and select cast members to find the right ones for the roles of the two kittens in the show. On Monday, March 17, 2014 The Legendary Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. will unveil the 2014 new works Monday series, NEC'S MONDAY NIGHT READING SERIES AT THE PERSHING SQUARE SIGNATURE CENTER. NEC will hold readings beginning Monday, March 17, 2014. All readings will start at 7:00 pm on The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036. A VIP Reception will immediately follow each reading. The series will feature 4 exceptional plays written by celebrated playwrights. None have been produced for New York audiences. Jujamcyn Theaters and True Colors Theatre Company have announced the 6th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition will take place on Monday, May 5th at 7:00 p.m. at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street). The event, which is free and open to the public, features high school students from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh and Seattle performing monologues by the late, legendary American playwright.

A.R.T. at Harvard University's sold-out production of ALL THE WAY, written by Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Robert Schenkkan and directed by Bill Rauch, stars Bryan Cranston (AMC's 'Breaking Bad') as Lyndon Baines Johnson. The show ends its run today, October 12 in Cambridge. Next, it will open on Broadway, with star Cranston moving with the show this winter. No official dates have been set, so stay tuned for updates.

Pablo Lopez from Los Angeles was the runner-up, and an honorable mention went to Branndin Phillips-Laramorefrom Chicago. The event, which was free and open to the public, featured high school students from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh and Seattle performing monologues by the late, legendary American playwright.
