Today we continue the 2014 edition of our annual BroadwayWorld feature series spotlighting the very best Tony Awards-related moments of all time with a special spotlight on an American classic just announced to be coming in a live production broadcast on NBC next year, THE MUSIC MAN!

Producer Ronnie Marmo and Theatre 68 are proud to present DROP DEAD! - By playwrights Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore - Opening June 6th at The NoHo Arts Center. This will be the 29th anniversary of the original production, and 23 years since the Los Angeles production originally opened. Marmo and Theatre 68 are elated to be granted the rights for this show for the first time since its original premiere. Landing Van Zandt as the director was the icing on the cake.

Directed by SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED's Colin Trevorrow, JURASSIC WORLD also stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Original JURASSIC PARK director Steven Spielberg will produce.

In this week's edition, we caught up with Mary Michael Patterson, who is starring as 'Christine' in The Phantom of the Opera- currently playing at the Majestic Theatre.

Regrettably, due to medical circumstances beyond his control, Craig Bierko will not be resuming his role as Miss Trunchbull in the Broadway production of Matilda the Musical. During rehearsals for the role of Agatha Trunchbull, Craig injured his shoulder making it impossible for him to meet all the physical requirements of the part.

In the morning before PBS aired Lincoln Center's COMPANY last night, November 8, Jon Cryer, who starred in the production as 'David', Tweeted to his followers that they should tune in. Little did he know he would be starting a back-and-forth on who best portrayed the role of 'Bobby' -- Neil Patrick Harris or Raul Esparza -- with actor Josh Charles (The Good Wife). Also, contrary to published reports, Nathan Lane is not currently attached to the workshop. We have confirmed that featured amongst the cast are Bobby Steggert, Michael Urie, and Alan Cumming. The New York Times is now reporting that Tony-winning director John Tiffany is directing and 2008 Tony nominee Daniel Evans is playing 'Bobby', who will be gay in this version of the show.

Craig Bierko, who began performances on September 17 in the role of Miss Trunchbull in Matilda The Musical, has temporarily exited the show due to an injury. A show representative told NYT: 'Due to a shoulder injury which delayed his start in 'Matilda the Musical' and which has been aggravated during performance, Craig Bierko will be taking a 12-week disability leave from the production. At this time, understudies Chris Hoch and Ben Thompson will be playing Miss Trunchbull.'

The four girls who share the title role in MATILDA THE MUSICAL will be guests on WLNY TV's "Live from The Couch" tomorrow morning Wednesday September 18 between 8-9 AM. They are Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro, each of whom makes her Broadway debut. WLNY TV is Channel 55 on Time Warner and Channel 14 on RCN. Craig Bierko will begin performances tonight in the role of Miss Trunchbull in MATILDA THE MUSICAL at Broadway's Shubert Theatre. Bierko was originally scheduled to begin on September 3, but a minor injury caused a delay. Since Tony nominee Bertie Carvel departed on September 1, the role was played by Chris Hoch.
