Courtney Balan is set to star as Fanny Brice in Riverside Theatre's FUNNY GIRL, which will play the Stark Stage in Vero Beach, FL, Jan. 10-27, 2013. James Brennan directs and choregraphs the show.

The Fall 2012 semester started off on a high note at William Peace University as Broadway performers Courtney Balan (CRY-BABY, [TITLE OF SHOW]) and Kilty Reidy (THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, IN MY LIFE) recently paid a visit to the school's BFA Musical Theater students and conducted a week-long residency teaching master classes in voice, acting and dance. Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) will present their July Cabaret Series and "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music" this weekend. Broadway and television actor Jason Kravits (Relatively Speaking, "The Practice") will host "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music", a little over one week after what would have been Oscar Hammerstein II's 117th birthday, tonight, July 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street). The presentation will be preceded by a special outdoor BBQ Style dinner hosted by Hamilton's Grill Room beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Ken Davenport has announced that the Off-Broadway phenomenon The Awesome 80s Prom, now in its ninth year at the famed club Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street), will be opening at the V Theater inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas on Saturday, July 14, 2012. The Vegas edition of The Awesome 80s Prom is produced by Sirc Michaels Productions.

Last night, July 2, was the Bucks County Playhouse re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony, as well as the first performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. The first production of the Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) 2012 summer season, A Grand Night for Singing will run through Sunday, July 29th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place 73 years and a day after The Playhouse first opened in 1939. Special guests included Mayor Laurence Keller (New Hope), Chris Hart (son of Moss Hart), Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Cawley, Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick (U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 8th congressional district), and Will Hammerstein (Grandson of Oscar Hammerstein II).
