Tony Award winner Debra Monk attended the current rare revival of David Rabe's IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM Thursday night Off-Broadway. She was accompanied by playwright/actor Michael Rabe (son of Mr. Rabe and Jill Clayburgh), with whom she starred in David Rabe's VISITING EDNA at Steppenwolf last fall.

David Rabe's IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM is set to officially open Off-Broadway tonight (Thursday) at American Theatre of Actors, 314 West 54 Street (just west of Eighth Ave.) Playwright David Rabe has been attending rehearsals over the past few weeks, making tweaks to his script for this 2017 incarnation of the rarely produced play.
Currently in previews, David Rabe's IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM is set to open Off-Broadway tomorrow evening (Thursday) at American Theatre of Actors, 314 West 54 Street (just west of Eighth Ave.) Playwright David Rabe attended rehearsals over the past few weeks, making tweaks to his script in the process for this 2017 incarnation of the rarely produced play. The cast features Pete Mattaliano, who also appeared in the play's world premiere at Villanova University in 1972. Joseph Papp subsequently presented IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM on Broadway in 1973 starring Robert Loggia, Charles Durning and Madeline Kahn, and the following year at The Public with Christopher Lloyd and Ellen Greene. Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, which is presenting 54 Celebrates The Neil Simon Theatre, on June 29th, 2016, has added Emmy Award winning director Lonny Price to the star-studded event. Mr. Price was seen on the Neil Simon stage in original production of Stephen Sondheim & George Furth's Merrily We Roll Along. Since then he has become an accomplished director of both theatre and television.

Tony nominee Jo Sullivan Loesser, widow of composer Frank Loesser, has signed on to host Feinstein's/54 Below all star concert of 54 Sings How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on June 5th, 2016. Ms. Loesser received a Tony Award nomination for originating the role of Rosabella in The Most Happy Fella. In recent years, Loesser has received great acclaim as a cabaret and recoding artist.
Ginna Claire Mason (Wicked), Luba Mason (How to Succeed), George Salazar (Be More Chill), and Tony Nominee Timothy Jerome (Me and My Girl) have been added to Feinstein's/54 Below all star concert of 54 Sings How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on June 5th, 2016. Ms. Mason will sing the role of Rosemary, Mr. Salazar will sing the role of Bud Frump and Mr. Jerome will sing the role of Mr. Bratt. Luba Mason will reprise her role of Hedy LaRue, which she played in the 1995 revival.
