Hearkening back to its very first productions in 1915 that featured sophisticated marionettes, CPH is bringing the cheeky and blood-thirsty plant Audrey II to life in a production that will be every vocal coach's dream - and every hemophobic's worst nightmare!

Shrunken Shakespeare Company presented the world premiere reading of Chukwudi Iwuji's masterpiece screenplay IRA on June 8th, 2015. The reading was the centerpiece of the SSC 2015 Spring Gala and was directed by Danya Taymor. The Creative Producer was Adam Shulman (Dukes of Hazard: The Beginning, Song One starring Anne Hathaway), host of SSC's Annual Benefit Gala and Staged Reading of at W83 (150 West 83rd Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus). Shrunken Shakespeare Company (Yvonne Cone and Jennifer Martina, Co-Producing Artistic Directors) announced today that Madeline Brewer has joined the cast as Meg, in the world premiere reading of Chukwudi Iwuji's masterpiece screenplay Ira - on June 8th, 2015. Brewer joins new cast member Eli Gelb (The Squid and the Whale, Holy Rollers).
Daniel J. Watts' THE JAM to Play LA's Federal Bar

After several sold out performances at New York City's Canal Room, Daniel J. Watts (After Midnight, Memphis) is finally bringing his spoken word based contemporary revue-style show to North Hollywood's Federal Bar on Monday, June 1st. Watts commented, 'I'm excited to finally let LA know what they've been missing.' The project is co-produced by WattsWords Productions and 515 Incorporated, the production company of Vivian Nixon (Smash, Women on the Verge). The Jam: Spoken Word Preserves is an innovative spoken word concert led by Daniel J. Watts.

7th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition Winners Announced

Jujamcyn Theaters and True Colors Theatre Company (Kenny Leon, Co-Founding Artistic Director) have announced that Moye Light from Atlanta has won first place at the 7th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition held on Monday, May 4th at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street). Cameron Southerland from Atlanta was the runner-up, and an honorable mention went to Jonathan German from New York City. The event, which was free and open to the public, featured high school students from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, Portland and Seattle performing monologues by the late, legendary American playwright.
