New York Theatre Ballet Announces 2018-19 ONCE UPON A BALLET Performances

New York Theatre Ballet announces the company's 2018-19 performances of their critically acclaimed Once Upon a Ballet series geared to audiences ages 3 and up and running time of one hour for young attention spans. This season's offerings include: Keith Michael's The Nutcracker from December 14-15, 2018 and Cinderella February 9 & 10, 2019 at Florence Gould Hall, 55 E 59th St, New York, NY 10022. Bistro Winning-Carole Demas & Sarah Rice Star In Expanded Version Of THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE

This year, a living legend of musical theatre turns 90: Lyricist-bookwriter Tom Jones (who also, under a stage name) appeared in the original company of his most famous and wildly successful record-breaking musical, The Fantasticks. His collaborator, composer Harvey Schmidt, just recently passed away. The production's record-breaking run closed, on January 13, 2002, after 17,162 performances. Their shows also include 110 in the Shade, I Do! I Do!, Philemon, Celebration and many more. And celebration is what it's about when Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, return to celebrate Jones & Schmidt. Demas and Rice have based the show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Tom and Harvey. With very special guest Broadway's Hal Robinson who is also a Fantasticks alumni.

CineConcerts announces a once-in-a-lifetime live concert event: the 25th anniversary celebration of Rudy In Concert, live at the historic Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on November 10th, 2018. Conducted by Justin Freer, the 80-piece Hollywood Chamber Orchestra will perform Oscar? and Emmy?-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith's complete score live while the entire film is projected on a massive 40-foot HD screen. Cicely Tyson to Receive Governors Award from the Academy

The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voted Tuesday night (September 4) to present Honorary Awards to publicist Marvin Levy, composer Lalo Schifrin and actress Cicely Tyson, and the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award to producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall.  The three Oscar® statuettes and Thalberg Award will be presented at the Academy's 10th Annual Governors Awards on Sunday, November 18, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center®.
