Barbara Cook and Brian Stokes Mitchell Join Starry NY POPS Gala 4/27

The concert will feature The New York Pops conducted by Steven Reineke, Music Director-Designate. The most recent additions to the program are Barbara Cook, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Tony Martin, who join a star-studded lineup of performers that includes Cheyenne Jackson, Brian d'Arcy James, Idina Menzel, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Anika Noni Rose, Ashford & Simpson, and Michael Feinstein.

Aquila Theatre's The ILIAD: Book One Opens 4/16

AQUILA THEATRE (Peter Meineck, Artistic Director) continues their season with Homer's Iliad: Book One. Previews began March 31st, and performances continue through April 25th. Opening Night is April 16th. Directed by Peter Meineck, Iliad: Book One will have original music by Anthony Cochrane and movement by Desiree Sanchez.

TIBET DOES NOT EXIST Runs At Spoon Theatre 4/8 - 4/26

Nicu's Spoon is pleased to announce their production of Don Thompson?s Tibet Does Not Exist, directed by Pamela Butler. Tibet Does Not Exist will play a three-week limited engagement at the Spoon Theater (38 West 38th Street, 5th Fl.) Performances begin Wednesday, April 8th and continuing through Sunday, April 26th. Opening Night is Saturday, April 11th (8 p.m.).

AQUILA THEATRE (Peter Meineck, Artistic Director) is proud to announce that they will continue their season with Homer's Iliad: Book One, beginning March 31st, and continuing through April 25th. Opening Night is set for April 16th. Directed by Peter Meineck, Iliad: Book One will have original music by Anthony Cochrane and movement by Desiree Sanchez. Iliad: Book One will feature John Buxton, Nathan Flower, Jeffrey Golde, Jay Painter, Natasha Piletich, and Vaishnavi Sharma.

Chester Gregory Releases 'In Search Of High Love' Album 3/31

Broadway Star/R&B Soul Recording Artist CHESTER GREGORY prepares for the release of his debut album 'In Search of High Love', in stores on March 31, 2009. The lead singe is the classic remake of 'I Only Have Eyes 4 U', by Harry Warren and Al Dubin.

The Flea Extendes Moses' LOVE/STORIES Thru 3/30

The Flea Theater will extend its critically acclaimed World Premiere production of Itamar Moses' LOVE/STORIES (OR BUT YOU WILL GET USED TO IT), a collection of five short new plays. Moses is the author of The Four of Us, Bach at Leipzig, Back Back Back and Celebrity Row, a playwright whose sensibility is the perfect match for The Bats, The Flea's resident company of emerging artists. Originally scheduled to close March 9, the production has been extended for 3 more weeks, through March 30.

THE DEMON WEED Cannabis Discussion To Follow REEFER MADNESS

'THE DEMON WEED!' - the past and present of cannabis propaganda a discussion with Dr Ben Goldacre (The Guardian), Mike Jay (acclaimed drugs historian) and Steve Rolles (Transform Drug Policy Foundation), following a performance of the musical REEFER MADNESS! BRIDEWELL THEATRE, LONDON PERFORMANCE: 28th MARCH 2.30pm followed by free discussion. Entry to the discussion is free for audience members. Come and discover the fascinating history of drugs propaganda and see how it has affected everything from government policy to Daily Mail headlines. The discussion will be accompanied by a screening of highlights from the original, 1936 Reefer Madness and the audience is welcome to field questions. Come along and join in, or just watch the fun!

PICT Announces Local Actors, Designers Return For '09 Season

Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre has assembled a team of more than 100 world-class artists, including popular Pittsburgh actors Helena Ruoti and Martin Giles, and New Yorkers Sam Tsoutsouvas and Sam Redford. Former Pittsburgh residents returning to work with PICT this season include designer Pei-Chi Su, actors Doug Rees, Kate Young, Alex Cole, Jarid Faubel, and Meghan Heimbecker, and director Jeffrey M. Cordell.

Steppenwolf Theater Ends 2008-2009 Season With UP 6/18-8/23

Steppenwolf Theatre Company concludes its 2008-2009 season, an exploration of the imagination, with Up by Bridget Carpenter, directed by ensemble member Anna D. Shapiro and featuring ensemble member Martha Lavey with Rachel Brosnahan, Jake Cohen, Tony Hernandez and Lauren Katz (additional casting to be announced). Up plays June 18 - August 23, 2009 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted. The press performance is Saturday, June 27 at 3:00 p.m.

A new drug menace is about to arrive on these shores! The UK Premiere of the hit off-Broadway smash musical Reefer Madness! is coming to London! A biting musical satire of the 1936 black-and-white propaganda film of the same name, Reefer Madness! will - for the first time - introduce unsuspecting Brits to the harrowing tale of Jimmy Harper: a fresh-faced, innocent, all-American high school boy lured into the dangerous world of marijuana. Guided along the way by a colourful cast of characters including George Washington, Lady Liberty and even Jesus himself, will Jimmy successfully navigate this seedy underworld and live to tell the tale?

LOVE/STORIES Gets 2nd Extension At The Flea Through 4/25

The Flea Theater has announced a 2nd extension its wildly popular and critically acclaimed World Premiere production of Itamar Moses' LOVE/STORIES (OR BUT YOU WILL GET USED TO IT. Moses is the author of The Four of Us, Bach at Leipzig, Back Back Back and Celebrity Row, a playwright whose sensibility has proven to be a perfect match for The Bats, The Flea's resident company of emerging artists. The production, which began performances on January 29, has been extended for an additional 4 weeks. The new closing date is now April 25.

NIGHT OF THE BUTTERFLY Begins 3/15 At 45 Bleecker St Theater

Stella Cartiano presents Night of the Butterfly, A Musical for Children and Their Adults written by Zack Friedman, with music & lyrics by Dan Kitrosser, additional material provided by Evan Green. Night of the Butterfly will begin performances on Sundays beginning March 15 at 11AM & 1PM and will run through April 26.
