Capital Classics doesn't let a little rain dampen the proceedings.

The opening night performance of Hello Dolly! produced by The Brandywiners, Ltd, was cancelled due to the fierce storms that rolled through the region Thursday evening.

FM98 WJLB and Channel 955, along with Olympia Entertainment, will present the Big Show at The Joe starring Young Jeezy, T.I., Waka Flocka Flame, B.o.B., Cash Out and LoveRance on Saturday, September 1 at 7 p.m.

Summer in Chicago continues this month with the Grant Park Music Festival, led by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar and the Grammy Award-nominated Grant Park Orchestra, along with Chorus Director Christopher Bell and the Grant Park Chorus in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago's Millennium Park. Though the team of Richard Maltby, Jr. (lyrics) and David Shire (music) hasn't had much luck when it comes to book musicals (Baby and Big, despite their admirers, struggled through disappointing Broadway runs.) when it comes to Off-Broadway musical revues, the boys are two-time champs.  Their 1970s hit, Starting Here, Starting Now, was topped in 1989 by a 300+ performance run of Closer Than Ever, which is now getting a sparkling revival at the York.

This summer, audiences are invited to visit the Huron Country Playhouse to jump and jive withan original production that swings, scats, stomps, and soars through the most memorable tunes of the greatest crooners and songbirds. The Canadian premiere of Big Band Legends runs for three weeks beginning tonight, June 27th through July 14th.
