The Night of 1000 Voices, the annual, star-studded event celebrating musical theatre at the Royal Albert Hall, is to take place on Spring Bank Holiday Sunday May 6, 2012 and will fundraise for blood cancer charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

The musical theater classic, The Wiz, the iconic African-American re-telling of The Wizard Of Oz made famous by Motown Productions' cult movie starring Diana Ross as Dorothy, Michael Jackson as The Scarecrow and Richard Pryor as The Wiz, will be revived in a new production that will tour Birmingham and Leeds this summer. In Birmingham, the production will The New Alexandria Theatre from Friday, 10 Jun 2011 through Saturday 18 Jun 2011. From there, the production will play Leeds at the West Yorkshire Playhouse from June 24 through July 16.

Merrily will play two performances on October 31, with evening and matiness shows. Company will play the same schedule on November 7. The concerts were initially scheduled to be performed at the Donmar's own space, but have been moved to accommodate more patrons.

Gareth Hale will play Scrooge in Susie McKenna and Steve Edis' adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, which is to open in the newly refurbished Arts Theatre in November this year.
