Black Box Theatre presents a one-of-a-kind Halloween experience with the World Premiere of THE CREATURE by Trevor Allen. Rob Melrose directs this new play featuring James Carpenter* (The Creature), Gabriel Marin* (Victor Frankenstein), and Garth Petal (Captain Walton). The design team includes Cassandra Carpenter (costumes) and Cliff Caruthers, who has created an original soundscape for the production. THE CREATURE plays October 23 through November 7 (Press opening: Sunday, October 25) at Thick House (1695 18th St., between Carolina & Arkansas) in San Francisco. The scene of this Crime is Berkeley Rep's intimate Thrust Stage, where Ott earned her reputation as a dazzling director. The show begins previews on February 27, opens March 4, and closes March 29. Following last year's triumph with Tanya Barfield's Blue Door, Lindo takes on August Wilson's African-American epic, Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Staged in the state-of-the-art Roda Theatre, this show begins previews on October 31, opens November 5, and closes December 14.

This March, be among the first people in America to see Will Eno's Tragedy: a tragedy at the Tony Award-winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre. An apocalyptic comedy by an intriguing new playwright, Tragedy makes its American premiere as part of Berkeley Rep's 40th birthday party, directed by Obie Award-winner Les Waters. Presented on the intimate Thrust Stage, Tragedy begins previews on March 14, opens March 19, and closes April 13, 2008.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) announced casting today for its upcoming world-premiere production of Brainpeople, written by OBIE Award-winning playwright and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter José Rivera and directed by 2007 OBIE Award-winner Chay Yew. Brainpeople plays at Zeum Theater January 30-February 16. Press night for the production is Saturday, February 2.
