THE PUMPKIN PIE SHOW: AMBER ALERT offers five brand new, never performed before short stories "ripped from the headlines" by writer Clay McLeod Chapman - each isolating that moment where innocence curdles into something… much, much darker. High school wrestlers with contagious skin diseases, vaginal hymenoplasty, secret diaries from dead astronauts, chemical castration, and parent-teachers conferences - all within one show.

RED OVER RED Closes in Brooklyn, August 7

Brooklyn-based theater company 31 Down's loud meditation on paranoia and premonition surrounding plane crashes, RED OVER RED, will premiere with a run at New York City's Incubator Arts Project July 22-August 7, 2010. 31 Down returns with their signature sonic destruction, creating a horror theater that is immersive, visceral and contemporary. Red Over Red follows four people working in and around the airline industry to explore distrust in one another on a personal level, and distrust in the unknown on a primal level. Featuring recurring crash nightmares, the work graphically dives into our renewed fears of flight post 911. Starring frequent Richard Foreman and Hal Hartley actor DJ Mendel, and Caitlin McDonough-Thayer, Ryan Holsopple and Risa Sarachan.

Horse Trade Theater Group Announces Their Fall Season

Horse Trade Theater Group (Erez Ziv, Managing Director, Heidi Grumelot, Artistic Director) announces the lineup for their 12th season, which will include productions by current Resident Artists The Management, Subjective Theatre Company, and No Tea Productions, a brand new addition of The Pumpkin Pie Show, The 2010 Burlesque Blitz, and productions from Horse Trade's newest Resident Artists, Animal Parts and Wide Eyed Productions.

Brand new monologues by prolific and controversial writer/director Neil LaBute (In the Company of Men, Nurse Betty, The Shape of Things and Reasons to be Pretty) and legendary playwright John Guare (House of Blue Leaves, Six Degrees of Separation) highlight a three-night presentation of new dramatic works at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street in Manhattan's Lower East Side).

Virginia Stage Company Announces 32nd Season, Incl. World Premiere of Bruce Hornsby Musical

Virginia Stage Company will produce the world premiere of SCKBSTD, A New Musical by Bruce Hornsby as part of its 2010-2011 season, VSC Artistic Director Chris Hanna announced today. The production will be part of VSC's American Soil Project, the Company's multi-year new play development project that explores the cultural fabric of southeastern Virginia.
