The International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) announced today that Vanessa Rose has been named its new Executive Director. ICE founder Claire Chase will remain ICE's Co-Artistic Director and flutist. Rose comes to ICE from the Lark Play Development Center where she served as Director of Development from 2013-2015. She was selected by ICE's Board of Directors on August 3 and will assume the directorship on September 1, 2015, alongside Chase and Co-Artistic Director and clarinetist Joshua Rubin.

The School of American Ballet's 2015 Winter Ball took place at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater on Monday, March 9, 2015 and raised more than $1.39 million for scholarships and school programs. Legendary French jeweler, Van Cleef & Arpels sponsored the glamorous, black-tie dinner dance for the eighth consecutive year. The evening began with cocktails at 7pm and dinner at 8pm, followed by a student performance choreographed specially for the occasion, and The Encore dessert and dancing. The proceeds from this event enhance every aspect of the School's extraordinary ballet training program, helping to provide more than $1.9 million annually in student scholarships, as well as supporting faculty, maintaining world-class studios and offering vital student programs beyond the classroom.

A triple-treat for both eyes and ears, the trio of gems in George Balanchine'sJewels pay tribute to golden ages of music and dance: Emeralds' graceful clouds of tulle whisper French fashion and fragrance; Rubies' jazzy, sassy merger with Stravinsky mirrors the carefree candor of America; and Diamonds' glittering splendor recalls the great choreographer's heritage, so that 'if the entire Imperial Russian inheritance of ballet were lost, Diamonds would still tell us of its essence' (Mary Clarke and Clement Crisp). Jewels runs from tonight, September 26 through October 5 at Seattle Center's Marion Oliver McCaw Hall.

Chaired by Michael Stipe and Justin Vivian Bond, PS122's Spring 2014 Gala will celebrate freedom of expression by honoring actor and performance artist John Fleck, performance artist and writer Holly Hughes, and performance artist Tim Miller-three of the four solo performers known collectively as the NEA 4. In addition, Clara Miller will receive the Shining Star Award, an award traditionally given to a non-artist who has greatly impacted the arts community of NYC. Miller founded the Nonprofit Finance Fund in 1980, which radically changed how non-profits think about their financial strategies.
