THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS to Run 5/27-6/15 at the Lantern

Lantern Theater Company closes their 20th anniversary season with a limited return engagement of Philadelphia actor/playwright Anthony Lawton's multimedia adaptation of C.S. Lewis' classic novella The Screwtape Letters. Featuring Lawton as demon Screwtape and Sarah Gliko as his sinuous secretary Toadpipe, The Screwtape Letters runs May 27 - June 15, 2014. Starz Renews DA VINCI'S DEMONS for Third Season

Starz Chief Executive Officer Chris Albrecht today announced a third season for the STARZ Original series 'Da Vinci's Demons' has been greenlit. The historical fantasy, created and executive produced by David S. Goyer and produced by Adjacent Productions, follows the 'untold' story of the world's greatest genius, Leonardo da Vinci, during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence.

Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo to Perform at RARITAN RIVER MUSIC FESTIVAL, 5/24

The celebrated Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo will appear at the Raritan River Music Festival on Saturday, May 24. The Duo, in a collaboration with string quartet, ETHEL will perform a program of Raritan River commissioned works by Paul Moravec, Michael Karmon, and Dusan Bogdanovic. The concert will also include the music of Augusta Read Thomas in a celebration of her 50th birthday. Beginning at 7:30pm the concert will take place at the Clinton Presbyterian Church in Clinton, NJ.

Opera Colorado Announces Upcoming Productions - MADAMA BUTTERFLY, THE MAGIC FLUTE, and More

Opera Colorado announced today that it will present Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly(November 2014), W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute (May 2015), Giuseppe Verdi's Aida (November 2015), and the world premiere of Lori Laitman's The Scarlet Letter (May 2016) starring Elizabeth Futral as Hester Prynne. A vital presence in Denver's cultural ecology, Opera Colorado is the Rocky Mountain region's preeminent grand opera company. The Opera's programming includes mainstage productions, artist development initiatives, and education and community engagement programming.

A.R.T. Adds FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS to 2014-15 Season; Performances Begin Jan. 2015

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Managing Director William Russo, has announced the remaining production planned for its 2014/15 Season: Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3), written by Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Jo Bonney, in a co-production with The Public Theater in New York. Performances will begin January 2015 at the Loeb Drama Center.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, presents Shakespeare's Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 as part of the Clarice Smith Repertory, starring Stacy Keach. STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn will direct both parts of this sweeping epic - one of Shakespeare's culminating achievements in the history play genre - over multiple nights. American Lyric Theater Presents THE LIVING LIBRETTO: OPERA IN EDEN Today

American Lyric Theater's popular series of public libretto readings, The Living Libretto, continues today, April 2nd at The National Opera Center. Featuring guest actors from Broadway and off-Broadway, these events are the culminating readings of extensive libretto workshops conducted for the new operas currently being written by ALT Resident Artists. Each reading includes a wine and cheese reception with the featured artists, and is followed by a discussion with the artists moderated by American Lyric Theater's Producing Artistic Director, Lawrence Edelson.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, presents Shakespeare's Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 as part of the Clarice Smith Repertory. Clarice Assad Set for Harris Center, 3/27-28

Described by the San Francisco Chronicle as a 'serious triple threat,' and 'an arranger and orchestrator of great imagination' (SF Classical Voice), Grammy Award nominee Clarice Assad is making her mark in the music world as a pianist, arranger, vocalist and a composer. Ms. Assad will make her Harris Center debut on the heels of her critically acclaimed performance at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

UMD MFA Dance Candidates Present PLEATED and MY TEMPEST, Now thru 3/14

Two third-year MFA Dance candidates in the UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies will present their thesis projects in a shared concert at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center today, March 12-14. Stephanie Miracle's Pleated will take place at 7:30pm followed by Ana Patricia Farfan's My Tempest at 9pm. Tickets for each performance are sold separately, and the artists will hold a talk back following My Tempest on March 13.
