YOUR NAME ON MY LIPS to Premiere at Dream Up Festival

Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Artistic Director) presents the world premiere of the musical Your Name on My Lips, as part the Dream Up Festival, with 10 performances from August 30 to September 18.   With book, music & lyrics by composer/writer/physicist Eric Sirota, it is directed by Katharine Pettit (Susan Stroman's SDC Observer on Bullets Over Broadway).  The show explores the way love can inspire and sustain us. With a classically influenced driving contemporary score, "Your Name on My Lips" will transport the audience back to when love was earnest, feelings deep, and romance unabashedly unapologetic.

BEFORE YOU GET TOO FAR AFIELD to Play JACK, 8/13-23

BEFORE YOU GET TOO FAR AFIELD will have a two-week performance run at the obie-award-winning theater JACK this August 13 - 23, Thursday - Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 5pm. Final casting has been set for the 2015 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's Playwrights For A Cause, set to take place at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4th Street, on Sunday, June 14 at 7:30 pm. The evening, which will benefit the non-profit National Coalition Against Censorship, will showcase world premiere one-act plays by three acclaimed playwrights: Israel Horovitz's Breaking Phillip Glass and Erik Ehn's Her Speech, both directed by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity founder and PFAC Producing Artistic Curator Glory Kadigan, and Halley Feiffer's A Play About New Mexico, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch.

Caissie Levy, Lucy DeVito & More Set for PLAYWRIGHTS FOR A CAUSE 2015, 6/14

Major casting has have been announced for the 2015 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's Playwrights For A Cause, set to take place at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Sheen Center, located at 18 Bleecker Street. The evening, which will benefit the non-profit National Coalition Against Censorship, will showcase world premiere one-act plays by four acclaimed playwrights: Israel Horovitz's Breaking Phillip Glass and Erik Ehn's Her Speech, both directed by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity founder and PFAC Producing Artistic Curator Glory Kadigan; Halley Feiffer's A Play About New Mexico, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch; and Neil LaBute's Mohammed Gets a Boner, directed by Marco Calvani.

Opera on Tap Presents SMASHED: THE CARRIE NATION STORY at The New York International Fringe Festival, 8/9-15

Brooklyn-based company Opera on Tap will bring the hatchet-wielding icon of the temperance movement, Carrie Nation, to life in its hit production SMASHED: The Carrie Nation Story, which will be presented atThe New York International Fringe Festival this August. Performances will be held at The C.O.W. (21 Clinton Street, between Houston and Stanton) on August 9th at 1:45pm, August 10th at 6:30pm, August 12th at 3pm, August 13th at 7:45pm, and August 15th at 9:30pm. The “hilarious slapstick-style opera” (Feast of Music) by composer James Barry and librettist Timothy Braun will be presented in a fully immersive, all-bar-encompassing production, which Opera on Tap is calling 'Opera of the Ridiculous.'

The evening, which will benefit the non-profit NYC food services agency City Harvest, will showcase world premiere one-act plays by four acclaimed playwrights: Obie Award-winner Israel Horovitz's St Anne's Soup which will be directed by Planet Connections Festivity founder and Co-Artistic Director Glory Kadigan (Neil LaBute world premieres Over the River at The Signature, Two Minute Warning), Wendy MacLeod's Community Service which will be directed by Lucille Lortel nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God), Snap! by Winter Miller which will be directed by Jessi D. Hill (Associate Artistic Director at terraNOVA Collective) & Eric Ehn and the Tenderloin Opera Company's Frail/Ingilin which will be directed by Mia Rovegno (Good Goods, Exquisite Corpse). Casting will be announced in May.

Center for Contemporary Opera to Open Line Tjornhoj's ORATION World Premiere, 7/26

The Center for Contemporary Opera (CCO), founded in 1982 and recognized as a leading proponent of new opera, will present the World Premiere of 'Oration' by Danish composer Ms. Line Tjørnhøj, July 26 & 27, 8 PM at the Cell Theatre, 338 West 23 Street. Music Director for 'Oration' is Lidiya Yankovskaya; Stage Director is Jeremy Bloom.
