The Kennedy Center presents the National Theatre of Great Britain and Bob Boyett production of War Horse from October 23 to November 11, 2012 in the Kennedy Center Opera House. Winner of five 2011 Tony Awards® including Best Play and based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo and adapted by Nick Stafford, the tour of War Horse is directed by Bijan Sheibani based on the original Tony Award®-winning direction by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris, and presented in association with Handspring Puppet Company of South Africa. Michael Morpurgo's novel, War Horse, is also the inspiration for Steven Spielberg's feature film of the same name, which earned six Academy Award® nominations including Best Picture. Press night will take place on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

The Lyric Hammersmith's major autumn revival of Eugene O'Neill's rarely seen classic Desire Under the Elms, will feature a cast which includes rising star Morgan Watkins (Saved, Lyric Hammersmith; The Hour, BBC) as Eben Cabot, Tony Award nominee Finbar Lynch (Hollow Crown: Richard II, BBC; The Duchess of Malfi, Old Vic) as his father Ephraim and celebrated Irish actress Denise Gough (Messiah, BBC; Six Characters in Search of an Author, Chichester/West End) taking the role of Ephraim's troublesome new wife Abbie Putnam.

This week three new and six returning cast members will join the London company of the National Theatre's internationally acclaimed stage production War Horse at the New London Theatre.

Joey from the National Theatre's acclaimed production of War Horse appeared on stage at the Olympic Park to salute Team GB and the world's athletes. Led by Captain Nicholls (Alex Avery), Joey reared in salute to the crowd at Park Live, which included Zara Phillips who along with her team later won silver in the equestrian events in Greenwich. Producers Bob Boyett and the National Theatre of Great Britain present the U.S. tour of the 2011 Tony Award-winning Best Play, WAR HORSE, which launched at the Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre on June 14 and continues through next Saturday, July 29. Now in its fourth year in the West End, Nick Stafford's adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's book has been playing to sell-out houses at the New London Theatre since March 2009. The Broadway production of War Horse, which continues its run at the Lincoln Center's Vivien Beaumont Theatre, was the winner of six Tony Awards including a Special Tony Award for Handspring Puppet Company. In February of this year War Horse opened to great critical acclaim at The Princess of Wales Theatre, Toronto. War Horse premiered at The National Theatre in October 2007.

Casting was announced today for the upcoming U.S. tour of the 2011 Tony Award-winning Best Play, WAR HORSE. The company, comprised of more than 30 performers, includes Andrew Veenstra as Albert Narracott, Brian Keane as Arthur Narracott, Michael Wyatt Cox as Billy Narracott, Todd Cerveris as Ted Narracott, Angela Reed as Rose Narracott, Jason Loughlin as Lieutenant James Nicholls, and Jason Alan Carvell as Private Schnabel.
