3Arts Announces Award Recipients; Presentation Held TONIGHT, 10/5

CHICAGO, IL (October 5, 2015)-3Arts is honored to announce the ten recipients of its 8th annual 3Arts Awards, presented to women artists, artists of color, and artists with disabilities working in the performing, teaching, and visual arts. The 2015 recipients are: dancer Kris Lenzo and choreographer Stephanie Martinez; vocalist Frank Waln and instrumentalist Chihsuan Yang; teaching artists Benji Hart and Chris Silva; actors Allen Gilmore and Fawzia Mirza; and visual artists Cheryl Pope and Fo Wilson. 3Arts Awards honorees each receive an unrestricted $25,000 award to put to use according to their individual needs and priorities. To date, the Chicago-based, nonprofit granting organization 3Arts has awarded over $1.5 million in total grants to more than 100 Chicago artists in the past eight years.

To benefit their 2016 return to their East Village home, Performance Space 122 (PS122) and Executive Producer Anson Mount bring together widely acclaimed playwright Eric Bogosian and director Jo Bonney, along with their close friends, for two-nights of hand-selected, intimate performances from Bogosian's 100 Monologues series.

At the top of Christopher Shinn's new play at Hartford Stage, AN OPENING IN TIME, the lights never dim to blackout. Instead, they brighten to lead us into a familiar suburban world occupied by a collection of characters whose lives intertwine as they yearn, in varied ways, to love and be loved.

MCC Theater Taps Television Star to Lead John Pollono's LOST GIRLS; Full Cast Set

MCC Theater has just announced the the New York premiere of John Pollono's Lost Girls, BroadwayWorld has confirmed.  Golden Globe nominated star of stage and screen, Piper Perabo-who recently completed five seasons of the USA's popular drama series "Covert Affairs" for which she received a Golden Globe Award nomination, and was last seen onstage in the Broadway and MCC Theater productions of Neil LaBute's Reasons to be Pretty-stars alongside Ebon Moss-Bachrach (HBO's "Girls"), Meghann Fahy (Next to Normal), Tasha Lawrence (Good People, The Whale), and newcomers Lizzy DeClement and Josh Green.

The Donmar Warehouse presents the UK premiere of TEDDY FERRARA, Christopher Shinn's insightful and revealing play, inspired by real events, explores society's uncomfortable embrace of the outsider. Dominic Cooke will direct his first theatre production since leaving the Royal Court in 2013, with a full cast featuring Nancy Crane, Griffyn Gilligan, Nick Harris, Christopher Imbrosciano, Oliver Johnstone, Kadiff Kirwan, Ryan McParland, Matthew Marsh, Anjli Mohindra, Luke Newberry, Pamela Nomvete, Abubakar Salim and Nathan Wiley. The production begins 1 October and runs through 5 December 2015. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the company in rehearsal below!

The Donmar Warehouse announces full casting for the UK premiere of Teddy Ferrara, Christopher Shinn's insightful and revealing play, inspired by real events, explores society's uncomfortable embrace of the outsider. Dominic Cooke will direct his first theatre production since leaving the Royal Court in 2013, with a full cast featuring Nancy Crane, Griffyn Gilligan, Nick Harris, Christopher Imbrosciano, Oliver Johnstone, Kadiff Kirwan, Ryan McParland, Matthew Marsh, Anjli Mohindra, Luke Newberry, Pamela Nomvete, Abubakar Salim and Nathan Wiley.

Christopher Shinn's AN OPENING IN TIME to Premiere at Hartford Stage This Fall

Hartford Stage presents the world premiere of An Opening in Time by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Connecticut native Christopher Shinn, with direction by Oliver Butler of The Debate Society, from September 17 through October 11, 2015. An Opening in Time's central Connecticut setting is inspired by Shinn's hometown of Wethersfield.

Gangbusters Theatre Co. to Bring SUNSHINE to 2015 Hollywood Fringe

A play in 65 minutes, SUNSHINE is the story of a small-time stripper at Club Paradise, where women sit in isolated Plexiglas booths and talk dirty to their customers. Sunshine is the star of this place, with her name up in lights. And her unexpected encounter with disillusioned paramedic Nelson offers two lost souls a window to love and acceptance.
