People's Light Readies World Premiere Holiday Panto LITTLE RED ROBIN HOOD

Fairytales collide in Little Red Robin Hood: A Musical Panto! Each year, the People's Light holiday panto transforms a beloved children's story into a musical extravaganza filled with outrageous characters, toe-tapping original music, slapstick comedy, and topical humor for both kids and adults. People's Light celebrates 15 years of madcap merriment with Cinderella: A Musical Panto. As "the nation's primary creator of such specialized tomfoolery" (Newsworks), People's Light has adapted the theatrical form of British pantomime into their own unique brand of holiday hilarity. Over 200,000 people ages 5-105 have attended the panto since People's Light began producing them over a decade ago. Following the tradition of putting a new spin on old fairytales, this year's panto transports the Cinderella story to the roaring 1920s. Lantern Theater Company Presents The Philadelphia Premiere Of HAPGOOD By Tom Stoppard

Lantern Theater Company kicks off its 2018/19 season with the regional premiere of Hapgood by Tom Stoppard. Longtime Lantern artistic collaborator Peter DeLaurier will direct a cast that includes McKenna Kerrigan as MI5 spymaster Elizabeth Hapgood, with Damon Bonetti, Kirk Wendell Brown, Trevor William Fayle, Christopher Patrick Mullen, Adam Phelan, David Pica, William Zielinski, and young actors Charles LaMonaca and Will Zielinski, who will share the role of Hapgood's son Joe. Theater critics and members of the press are invited to request tickets for opening night on Wednesday, September 12 at 7 p.m. by contacting Anne Shuff at ashuff@lanterntheater.org. 2018 Barrymore Award Nominations Announced For Excellence In Theatre

Theatre Philadelphia, the region's marketing and leadership organization for theatre, proudly announces the 2018 nominees for the Barrymore Award for Excellence in Theatre. Celebrating the rich, diverse professional theatre scene in the Greater Philadelphia region, the Barrymore Ceremony will be held on Monday, November 5th at 7pm at the Bok Building at 1901 S. 9th Street in South Philadelphia.
