Santa Rosa's 6th Street Playhouse announces its 2010-2011 'All-American' season featuring four musicals and eight plays. The twelve-show season offers a wide variety of theater productions, from Aug. 13, 2010 through June 26, 2011, including family musicals, comedies, American classics and two world premieres.

Virginia's Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre presents the legendary Hollywood musical Sunset Boulevard running December 7, 2010 through February 13, 2011. Headlining the production is Broadway's Florence Lacey (Evita; Hello Dolly!; Signature's Follies) as the tragic silent film star Norma Desmond [as previously announced], complemented by D.B. Bonds (The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, Signature's The Visit) as Joe, Susan Derry (Wonderful Town) as Betty, and Ed Dixon (The Iceman Cometh, The Three Musketeers) as Max von Mayerling. Three time Helen Hayes Award winner J. Fred Shiffman is Sheldrake and Washington favorite Harry A. Winter is Cecil B. DeMille. The New School for Drama presents the second annual New Visions Drama Directing Festival, featuring three full-length plays spanning eras and styles, performed in repertory. The festival, which runs from December 8 through December 11, highlights the work of graduating MFA directing and acting students. All performances are free and open to the public.

Asolo Repertory Theatre announced the complete cast of its upcoming production of Bonnie & Clyde a thrilling new musical with book by Ivan Menchell (The Cemetery Club, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang); music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel); lyrics by Tony Award-winner Don Black (Sunset Boulevard, Song and Dance); Music Supervision, Arrangements and Orchestrations by John McDaniel; and direction and musical staging by Tony Award- winner Jeff Calhoun (Deaf West's Big River and Pippin, Grease!). The production runs from November 16 - December 19, 2010 on the Asolo Rep mainstage-The Mertz Theatre. The press opening is November 19, at 8 p.m.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities has selected Ann Crumb, renown for her work on Broadway and the West End, to play the role of Norma Desmond in the second fully staged regional production in the U.S. of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, which opens September 14 and runs through October 10, 2010.

According to an article in the Telegraph, Keira Knightley may return to the stage in London. The actress received critical acclaim for her performance in THE MISANTHROPE earlier this year, and is currently being sought after by Christopher Hampton. The writer of 'Atonement' and 'A Dangerous Method,' Knightley's latest film, Hampton and Knightley are frequent collaborators. He hopes to feature her in his new play at the National.

It may be set in 1950, but it could just as easily have been ripped from this morning's TMZ.com - Portland Center Stage brings Billy Wilder's glittering Hollywood train wreck of a tale to the main stage with Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical adaptation of Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Boulevard previews on Tuesday September 14th, with press night on Friday, September 17th, running through October, 2010. Tickets start at $43, with student and under 30 discounts available.
