Broadway favorite Brent Barrett and Jenn Harris head the cast of SILENCE! The Musical, the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, book by Hunter Bell, and direction and choreography by Christopher Gattelli. SILENCE! The Musical has officially opened at Theatre 80, located at 80 St. Marks Place (between First & Second Ave.) Also featured in the cast of SILENCE! The Musical are Callan Bergmann, Stephen Bienskie, Harry Bouvy, Ashlee Dupré, Deidre Goodwin, Jeff Hiller, Howard Kaye, and Lucia Spina. Music Supervisor is Mark Hartman, with orchestrations by Brian J. Nash.

WaterTower Theatre today announced the cast for Little Shop of Horrors, running July 22 - August 21, 2011 at the Addison Theatre Centre.

The 40th Anniversary production and first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's landmark rock musical GODSPELL will begin preview performances Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th Street). BroadwayWorld.com reported back on April 21 that the Broadway-bound revival of Godspell, which is now aiming for the Great White Way in the 2011-12 theatre season will likely play in the Circle in the Square Theatre, which is currently home to the open-ended run of LOMBARDI. No official announcement has been made, but the production will indeed open this year, on November 7th.

Paper Mill Playhouse will open its 2011-2012 season with the premiere of a new Disney stage musical, Newsies. Featuring music by eight time Academy Award®-winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, The Little Mermaid), lyrics by Jack Feldman and a new book by four-time Tony® Award winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy), Newsies is adapted for the stage from the live-action Disney feature film musical. The production is being directed at Paper Mill by Tony® nominee Jeff Calhoun (The Will Rogers Follies, Grey Gardens). The show begins performances on Thursday, September 15. Broadway's Brent Barrett, most recently seen in CHICAGO will play the lead role of Hannibal Lecter in the new Off Broadway production of the spoof hit, Silence! reports Variety today. Jenn Harris will play the role of detective Clarice Starling in the parody of the hit 1991 thriller, 'The Silence of the Lambs.' The paper also reports that Stephen Bienskie, Deidre Goodwin, Jeff Hiller, Harry Bouvy, Howard Kaye and Alysha Umphress will be in the cast as well.
