Producer Ken Davenport will to present 'Day by Day: The Producer's Perspective,' the official blog chronicling 100 days leading up to the first performance of the much-anticipated Broadway revival of legendary rock musical GODSPELL.

WaterTower Theatre today announced the cast for Little Shop of Horrors, running July 22 - August 21, 2011 at the Addison Theatre Centre.

Paper Mill Playhouse has just announced the full creative team behind its season opener, the premiere of a new Disney stage musical, Newsies. Featuring music by eight-time Academy Award®-winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, The Little Mermaid), lyrics by Jack Feldman and a new book by four-time Tony® Award winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy), Newsies is adapted for the stage from the 1992 live-action Disney feature film musical. The show begins performances on Thursday, September 15. The official press opening is scheduled for Sunday, September 25.

ALLEGIANCE, presented by San Diego's Old Globe, is currently in rehearsals for a workshop to take place in New York City on July 27th and 28th. The cast of ALLEGIANCE surprised fellow cast member George Takei by all wearing 'It's OK to Be Takei' T-shirts. Check out a snapshot below!

The stars of SILENCE! The Musical, Brent Barrett and Jenn Harris, along with bookwriter Hunter Bell, will be featured on this week's NY1 'On Stage' airing Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17 at 9:30 AM & 7:30 PM; Monday, July 18 at 9:30 PM and Tuesday, July 19 at 12:30 AM. NY1's Frank DiLella filmed the interviews earlier this week on the stage at Theatre 80.

Due to overwhelming demand, the producers of SILENCE! The Musical today put a new block of tickets on sale through August 27th.

They look a little like Blue Man Group, they sound a little like Toxic Audio and they talk a lot like Andy Kaufman and Carol Kane playing Latka and Simka on Taxi, but while Voca People might give the appearance of being a bit too tourist trappy for we jaded New York theatre types, it's the kind of family friendly, good clean fun that's legitimately clever, catchly and often downright adorable.

On Thursday, July 7, open call auditions for the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's landmark rock musical GODSPELL took place at The Actors Chapel in midtown Manhattan. Telsey + Company, the casting office for GODSPELL, is seeking musical theatre performers with strong singing voices and comedic ability, ages 16-30. All ethnicities and types were welcome. Thousands of hopefuls showed up for their chance to participate in the historic revival. Saturday evening July 2nd, Joan Rivers was spotted in the audience at SILENCE! The Musical, the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, at Theatre 80, located at 80 St. Marks Place (between First & Second Ave.) The legendary comedienne/actress was the first to leap to her feet at the end of the performance, leading the standing ovation. Joan chatted with the cast after the show and she even offered some tongue-in-cheek advice to leading lady Jenn Harris regarding her first scene. Jenn replied, 'You're an asshole!' The two actresses fell into each others arms dissolved in laughter.
