Theater for the New City has announced complete casting for Charles Busch's new comedy JUDITH OF BETHULIA. The play, starring Busch, and directed by Carl Andress (The Divine Sister; Die, Mommie, Die!) will play a limited engagement of 24 performances from Friday, March 30 through Saturday, April 28 at Theater for the New City's Cino Theater (155 First Avenue).

Jennifer Cody Joins Cast of JUDITH OF BETHULIA

Theater for the New City has just announced that Jennifer Cody (Shrek, The Pajama Game) will play the role of 'Naomi' in Charles Busch's new comedy JUDITH OF BETHULIA. The play, starring Busch, and directed by Carl Andress (The Divine Sister; Die, Mommie, Die!) will play a limited engagement of 24 performances from Friday, March 30 through Saturday, April 28 at Theater for the New City's Cino Theater (155 First Avenue).

Charles Busch will return to Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Executive Artistic Director) this March with his new comedy JUDITH OF BETHULIA for a limited premiere showcase engagement at Theater for the New City's Cino Theater (155 First Avenue). The premiere production, directed by Busch's longtime collaborator Carl Andress (The Divine Sister; Die, Mommie, Die!) will play a limited engagement of 24 performances from Friday, March 30 through Saturday, April 28.

Review - Penny Penniworth: Twisted Dickens

I suppose it's about time someone came up with a name for that genre of plays where a handful of actors each impersonate a varied assortment of characters to tell a sprawling story, i.e., The 39 Steps, The Complete Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged).  When that jolly day arrives certainly Chris Weikel's hilarious Charles Dickens send-up, Penny Penniworth: A Story of Great Good Fortune, should be regarded as one of its more sparkling examples.

Dickens spoof PENNY PENNIWORTH Opens Off-Broadway, 9/8

EMERGING ARTISTS THEATRE will present a return engagement of their wildly popular and critically acclaimed production of PENNY PENNIWORTH by Chris Weikel. This spoof of Dickens, directed by Mark Finley, is produced on Off-Broadway contract. Performances of this limited engagement will begin September 8 at TADA Theatre.
