Keegan Theatre's AMERICAN IDIOT Opening 3/12

Keegan Theatre kicks off its spring season with the high-octane rock musical American Idiot. Based on Green Day's Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum album and featuring the hits "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "21 Guns," "Holiday" and the hit title track, American Idiot boldly took the American musical in a new direction, capturing not just the sound of a generation, but also the frustrations, fears, dreams and challenges of becoming an adult in the media-saturated, post-9/11 era.

DOGFIGHT, the Justin Paul & Benj Pasek musical that tells a tender but brutal story of young people meeting in a situation that is destined for heartbreak, began at The Keegan Theatre on August 22, opens tonight, August 25, and runs through September 19, 2015. Christina A. Coakley & Michael Innocenti direct the production, with a libretto by Peter Duchan, musical direction by Jake Null and choreography by Kurt Boehm. Next Monday, The Rainbow Theatre Project presents the final installment of their inaugural season - a concert reading of the much-touted Off Broadway musical YANK! by brothers David and Joseph Zellnik. Co-directed by Factory 449 Producing Artistic Director Rick Hammerly and the Director of Artistic Programming at Ford's Theatre, Patrick Pearson, with Musical direction and accompaniment by Adam Wiggins, YANK! plays at Source in D.C. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.

With fresh and sensual choreography by Helen Hayes Awards nominee Rachel Leigh Dolan, HAIR also features book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado with music by Galt MacDermot. The opening is March 15, 2014 at the Andrew Keegan Theatre in Washington, DC.
