Music, Dance, Theater, Visual Arts and More Set for Latin American Cultural Week 2013, 11/15-24

Pan American Musical Art Research (PAMAR), founded and directed by Polly Ferman (and this year celebrating its 30th Anniversary!) has announced the 8th annual Latin American Cultural Week, a sumptuous list of events showing the rich culture of Latin America, with music, dance and theater performances, films, visual arts, and auctions, November 15-24 all around town, including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Apollo Theater in NYC, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Queens Theater, with a couple of trips to the Ritz Theater in Elizabeth NJ and Symphony Hall in Newark NJ.

Anna Tonna and Max Lifchitz Join Forces for ART SONGS FROM LATIN AMERICA, 10/27

New York City based mezzo-soprano Anna Tonna and pianist Max Lifchitz join forces on Tuesday evening October 29to perform a program highlighting art songs by composers from throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The event is being marks the beginning of the 34th consecutive season of free-admission concerts sponsored by North/South Consonance, Inc.

VeraMusica Presents TUTTO VERDI, 10/7

On October 7, 2012 at 2:45 in the afternoon at Christ and St. Stephen's Church, internationally renowned tenor Francisco Casanova will present Tutto Verdi, a concert of ensembles from the operas of Giuseppe Verdi.

The evening will feature a competition to choose the winner of the BMI Foundation's tenth annual Charlie Parker Jazz Composition Prize, which will be given to the writer of the best new work composed in the Workshop.
