'Poltergeist' meets 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' with a dash of 'Full House' in 'A Very Dark Place,' a world premiere horror/comedy guaranteed to make you scream with laughter one moment and scream with fear the next. Are you afraid of the dark? This is your chance to find out. 'A Very Dark Place' opens at the Hayworth Theatre on Saturday, October 31 and runs through November 22 only. Performances will be on Saturday and Sunday nights at 8:00.

Pillsbury House Theatre presents Non English Speaking Spoken Here: The Late Nite Series on September 12, October 10, and November 14. The September Late Nite kicks it off hard with performances by José James, Kenna Sarge, D'Lo, The St. Paul Soapboxing Slam Team, and DJO. It's going to be a full night of jazzy music, intense dance, new theatre, slammin' poetry, and fresh beats. Food is served at 8pm and performances begin at 9pm.

The San Francisco Playhouse, BlueRare Productions, and PlayGround team to present the SF Playhouse's critically acclaimed production of Abraham Lincoln's Big Gay Dance Party, by Aaron Loeb, directed by Chris Smith, as part of the13th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, thus furthering an SF Playhouse goal to deliver productions that can succeed on a national level. Performances will be held at HERE Arts Center (Mainstage Theater - Venue #17), 145 6th Avenue (between Spring and Broome).

Charlotte audiences can look forward to more than 30 special attractions representing the best music, comedy, and theatrical events available that are featured on the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's 2009-10 season. They will also have additional opportunities to attend the best shows Broadway has to offer, as the Center announced today the extension of three of its Broadway shows with an extra week of The Aluminum Show, Jersey Boys, and Mary Poppins.
