Film and television icon Pee-Wee Herman (Paul Reubens) brought his signature brand of hilarious mayhem to Broadway for a special limited engagement of the acclaimed stage play, The Pee-Wee Herman Show. The show was filmed Jan. 6 for a HBO Special to air later this year. As reported by zap2it.com, Reubens, who spoke via satellite from New York at the Television Critics Association press tour, told press there's been a lot of interest in a television return for 'Pee-Wee.'

Actress and comedian Wanda Sykes will debut her award-winning routine at The Mirage Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12. Sykes, one of the '25 Funniest People in America,' according to Entertainment Weekly, will take the stage at 10 p.m. both nights inside the Terry Fator Theatre.

Three decades after his first HBO special, Paul Reubens will return to the network in an exclusive presentation of his current hit Broadway show, it was announced today by Nancy Geller, senior vice president, HBO Original Programming. Debuting in 2011, the HBO presentation THE PEE-WEE HERMAN SHOW ON BROADWAY will shoot at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre New York this January, immediately following the conclusion of its exclusive Broadway engagement, running through Jan. 2.

Sykes Extends as 'Hannigan' in Media Theatre's ANNIE

Wanda Sykes is currently leading the Media Theatre's production of ANNIE as 'Miss Hannigan' - the iconic child-hating orphanage director with an affinity for alcoholic beverages - this holiday season. Sykes opened the production on November 23 and had been scheduled to close the production on January 16, 2011 following a Christmas absence. THE MOTHERF**KER WITH THE HAT by Stephen Adly Guirgis will make its world premiere on Broadway starring Bobby Cannavale, Chris Rock, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Annabella Sciorra and Yul Vázquez. Directed by Anna D. Shapiro, the production will open on Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street, New York City). Today, a spokesperson for the production has announced that The strictly limited 14-week engagement will begin previews on March 15, 2010 one week earlier than originally announced date of March 22. Opening night remains scheduled for April 11, 2010.

As BroadwayWorld reported back in August, comedian Wanda Sykes will be leading the Media Theatre's production of ANNIE as 'Miss Hannigan' - the iconic child-hating orphanage director with an affinity for alcoholic beverages - this holiday season. Sykes will open the production on November 23 and close the production on January 16, 2011 following a Christmas absence.
