Inspired by objects from National Museums Scotland's World Cultures Collection, acclaimed contemporary Australian artist Danie Mellor presents sculpture and work on paper that explores his own indigenous and European heritage. With works focusing on fauna, Aboriginal life and landscape, and science and exploration, alongside technical references to European art, Mellor's work is uniquely relevant to the breadth of National Museums Scotland's collections.

Nowak, 1890), tonight, October 23, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 24 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, October 25 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m.
Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in a one-night-only all- Mozart program featuring the Piano Concertos Nos. 17 and 24, with Lang Lang as soloist, and Overture to The Magic Flute, tonight, October 21, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.
ELMER GANTRY is a musical version of Sinclair Lewis' best-selling novel, directed by Signature's Artistic DirectorEric Schaeffer (Broadway's Follies, Million Dollar Quartet). Schaeffer collaborated on the last production of Elmer Gantry at Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre in Chicago with authors John Bishop (book), Mel Marvin (music) and Bob Satuloff (lyrics) in 1998; the show has not been produced since then. Signature Theatre's presentation will be the 5th production in the show's history. Running in the MAX Theatre now through November 9, Signature's production will include several brand new songs by Mel Marvin and Bob Satuloff and a reimagined script that John Bishop worked on until his death in 2006. Esa-Pekka Salonen returns to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Beethoven's King Stephen Overture; Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1, with pianist Jeremy Denk in his Philharmonic debut; and Stravinsky's The Firebird (complete), tonight, October 16, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 17 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, October 18 at 8:00 p.m.

Jaap van Zweden - music director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Hong Kong Philharmonic as well as former concertmaster of Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra - will return to the New York Philharmonic for the first time since his debut in April 2012 to conduct two weeks of concerts. In the first program, Mr. van Zweden will conduct Mozart's Sinfonia concertante for Violin and Viola, featuring Acting Concertmaster Sheryl Staples and Principal Viola Cynthia Phelps, and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 8, Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, November 22 at 8:00 p.m.
The New York Philharmonic Ensembles, composed of musicians from the Orchestra, will give its second performance of the 2014-15 season on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Merkin Concert Hall with a concert featuring Schnittke's Moz-Art, for Two Violins; the World Premiere of Joel Eric Suben's Piano Trio "Ballo di Corte"; Beethoven's String Trio in C minor, Op. 9, No. 3; and Schubert's String Quartet in A minor, Rosamunde, D.804.

The New York Philharmonic will launch Philharmonic Free Fridays, offering 100 free tickets for young people ages 13-26 to each of the 18 Friday evening subscription concerts during the 2014-15 season.

On Friday, October 31 at 8:00 p.m., Music Director Yannick Nezet-Seguin leads The Philadelphia Orchestra in its first of four Carnegie Hall concerts this season in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The orchestra performs Mahler's Symphony No. 2 in C Minor, "Resurrection" with soprano Angela Meade, mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly, and the Westminster Symphonic Choir under the direction of Joe Miller.
New York Philharmonic Associate Conductor Case Scaglione will conduct the Orchestra in Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun; Glazunov's Violin Concerto, with Joshua Bell as soloist; and Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5, Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, November 13 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 14 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, November 15 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Payton, HAIRSPRAY, DREAMGIRLS) leads the choir in the praise-worthy 'On the Road', and Elmer Gantry (Charlie Pollock, Broadway's VIOLET) finds himself at a crossroads, ready to take on the next adventure, but only the Lord knows where he'll end up next - Sharon Falconer's tent revival - in 'Between Trains.' The October broadcasts of The New York Philharmonic This Week - the weekly radio series of concerts and recordings by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by Alec Baldwin - begins with Jeffrey Kahane conducting the New York Philharmonic in J.S. Bach's Concerto for Violin and Oboe, featuring Principal Associate Concertmaster Sheryl Staples (now the Orchestra's Acting Concertmaster) and Principal Oboe Liang Wang with Mr. Kahane leading from the harpsichord; Mozart's Symphony No. 33; and Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1, with Mr. Kahane conducting from the piano.
Principal Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado returns to Carnegie Hall on Thursday, November 6 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, leading Orchestra of St. Luke's in the first of three Carnegie Hall concerts this season as part of the orchestra's 40th anniversary celebration.
