When you've been given the privilege to watch and, of course, listen to legendary Tony winner Jennifer Holliday sing live---in that signature inimitable style---it's practically akin to a religious experience. She is, to put it mildly, still one of the world's most treasured, gifted musical voices. Even more awesome? Holliday served as the finale headliner that capped off an impressive line-up of Broadway stars that included Erich Bergen, Rogelio Douglas, Jr., Danny Gurwin, and Tony nominee Chad Kimball. And the highly entertaining evening---a pleasant mixture of amusing anecdotes and enthralling showtune performances---was hosted by Holliday's Tony nominated DREAMGIRLS co-star, Obba Babatunde.

On Sunday June 1 Joan Ryan brought her 2013 BWW award-winning show to the Catalina Jazz Club. The show was recently retitled On the Edge. The evening was a benefit for the Trevor Project and brought a special guest star to the stage Will and Grace's Eric McCormack.

Chris Isaacson Presents and Upright Cabaret announced today the addition of a third show for Broadway, film and television star Jeremy Jordan's Los Angeles solo concert debut. The added show will be on Tuesday, May 6 at 8pm at the Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood. Jordan's special guest will be his wife, Broadway performer Ashley Spencer. As previously announced, there will be two shows on Monday, May 5 at 7:30pm and 10pm.

Chris Isaacson Presents and Upright Cabaret present award-winning Broadway star Linda Eder for one show only on Monday, June 9 at 8pm at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood. The evening will include selections from Eder's 15 solo recordings which span countless musical genres including Broadway, standards, pop, country, and jazz. Eder will also welcome fellow Broadway star Constantine Maroulis and America's first Mashup Group, the COMPANY MEN, as her special guests.

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission announces the Ford Theatres 2014 summer season. Presented in the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, the Ford lineup features returning favorites, exciting new additions, family friendly performances and fun interactive events. Beautiful actress/singer Laura Benanti, Tony Award winner for Gypsy, performed at 54 Below in New York during 2013, and the live concert was recorded on Broadway Records. To celebrate the release of the CD entitled In Constant Search of the Right Kind of Attention, Chris Isaacson Presents booked Benanti into the Catalina Bar & Grill on Thursday January 9, and the show immediately sold out. As a result, an additional concert was scheduled for Wednesday January 8, which also sold out. Why such a fuss over Laura Benanti, you may ask? The answer is simple. Apart from the fact that this is her Los Angeles debut, let's add that like Audra McDonald, Kristen Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, this lady is a sensational singer with an incomparable range, and as the title of the album suggests, she is totally worthy of the highest form of attention. In her 75-minute set, which included just about every song on the album, she also proved what a winning charm and sense of humor she possesses! Like Patti LuPone before her, Laura Benanti has a precious wit that can only be experienced to its fullest in this kind of environment, namely a cabaret setting. She let her hair down and she was...GREAT! Outstanding musicians Kevin Axt was on bass, Ray Brinker on drums, Andrew Synowiec on guitar and virtuoso musical arranger and director Todd Almond also dueted with Benanti a couple of times during the set on pieces he had arranged or composed.
