PROMISES, PROMISES with Hayes & Chenoweth to Play Bway Theatre; Previews 3/28, Opens 4/25

Broadway Across America (John Gore, Thomas B. McGrath, Beth Williams), Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Candy Spelling and The Weinstein Company will present the first-ever Broadway revival of PROMISES, PROMISES this spring at the Broadway Theater (1681 Broadway). Previews will begin on Sunday, March 28th, 2010 with an opening night slated for Sunday, April 25th, 2010. The musical is written by legends Neil Simon (book), Burt Bacharach (music), and Hal David (lyrics). Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes will make his Broadway debut starring in the role of Chuck Baxter opposite Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, returning to Broadway as Fran Kubelik. Tony and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford will also make his Broadway directorial debut and choreograph. More casting and creative team members will be announced in the near future.

The New York Post's Michael Riedel is reporting this morning that Kristin Chenoweth has been nabbed by producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron for their upcoming Broadway revival of PROMISES, PROMISES. The Post reports that while not yet signed, a deal appears to have been reached for the always-in-demand star to take on the role of Fran Kubelik opposite Sean Hayes as Chuck Baxter.

Variety reports that 'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe will lead the cast of an upcoming New York reading of 1961 musical 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,' marking the first musical turn for the 'Harry Potter' star. Producers Broadway Across America, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will guide the reading, seen as a set up for a potential Broadway revival.

MTV turned New York City inside out for the '2009 Video Music Awards' as the network celebrated a legend and brought together the biggest names in music, TV, film and sports. Live from Radio City Music Hall, VMA icon Madonna opened the show and introduced the emotional and heartfelt tribute to Michael Jackson. Janet Jackson was joined onstage by the most renowned choreographers in the world and Michael's tour dancers, all of whom were influenced by the 'King of Pop,' for a memorable and high energy performance. To honor her brother and his illustrious career, the dancers recreated some of his most memorable music videos including 'Thriller,' 'Bad,' 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Scream.' The celebration received a standing ovation and set the tone for the most important evening in music and pop culture.

The TEEN CHOICE AWARDS 2009 took place last night at the Gibson Amphitheatre, Universal City, CA. At the live ceremony yesterday evening, Sunday August 9th, 'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson claimed surf boards both for best movie actor and best hottie. The Jonas Brothers rode five boards to victory, but Miley Cyrus beat them, as she claimed six.

Miley Cyrus performed her newest single, 'Party in the U.S.A.,' at TEEN CHOICE 2009 last night. The performance filled show airs tonight, Monday, Aug. 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Additionally, the casts of 'Twilight' (Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz) and FOX's new comedy series GLEE (Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Jenna Ushkowitz, Chris Colfer,Amber Riley and Kevin McHale) will also guest on the two-hour special.
