Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, the country's premier socially-conscious, eco-friendly arts festival, is proud to announce its seventh season of plays, musicals & staged readings, with all shows taking place at The Paradise Factory, 64 East 4th St, between 2nd Avenue & Bowery.

Playwrights for a Cause has announced that the show will go on as planned at the New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4th Street, on Sunday, June 14 at 7:30 pm. However, in light of The Sheen Center's cancellation of Playwrights for a Cause benefiting the National Coalition Against Censorship and the resulting recent media reports, playwright Neil LaBute has decided to pull his one-act play from the event.

Playwrights For A Cause, an evening of plays by award-winning playwrights Erik Ehn, Halley Feiffer, Israel Horovitz and Neil LaBute, and a panel discussion concerning censorship in climate science and more inclusion of LGBT, women, and minorities in the arts, originally scheduled for June 14, 2015 at The Sheen Center at 18 Bleecker Street, has been canceled by the management of The Sheen Center.

Major casting has have been announced for the 2015 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's Playwrights For A Cause, set to take place at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Sheen Center, located at 18 Bleecker Street. The evening, which will benefit the non-profit National Coalition Against Censorship, will showcase world premiere one-act plays by four acclaimed playwrights: Israel Horovitz's Breaking Phillip Glass and Erik Ehn's Her Speech, both directed by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity founder and PFAC Producing Artistic Curator Glory Kadigan; Halley Feiffer's A Play About New Mexico, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch; and Neil LaBute's Mohammed Gets a Boner, directed by Marco Calvani.

The League of Professional Theatre Women will present a special event, 'The Independent Producer' focusing on women producers in today's theater, on Monday May 4 from 6pm to 8pm at Theater Lab at 357 W. 36th St. on the 3rd floor.

New York Madness (NYM) is about to start its Fifth Season. With a focus on emerging artists, NYM hosts a hot night of short plays based on a theme proposed by the more established Featured Guest. The Theme is announced one week prior to the event. NYM has been hosted by the Cherry Lane Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, ESPA/Primary Stages, INTAR Theatre, IATI Theater and they will be at The COW (Former home of The Living Theatre) for their Season Launch on September 21st at 8pm. The Season Launch will include Featured Guest Chisa Hutchinson (Blue Man Group, New York NeoFuturists, Partial Comfort, Atlantic Theater Company, Rattlestick Theater, New Dramatists) along with playwrights Cecilia Copeland*, Judith Leora*, Shaun Bennet Fountleroy, Jeffrey James Keyes, and more TBA. 360repco presents Lancelot, a world premiere drama by award-winning playwright Steven Fechter (The Woodsman), and music by New York-based rock band The Head Set. Thom Fogarty directs a cast of four, including Stephen James Anthony* (Bway: War Horse), Lulu Fogarty*, Romy Nordlinger* and Grant Riordon. Performances will be staged at The Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012 from today, August 13-29, 2014.

Theaterspeak will present WRITE OUT FRONT, an installation of over 125 award-winning and up-and-coming playwrights writing new plays in the storefront window of the Drama Book Shop during store hours, today, August 1st - 31st. In each two-hour time slot for WRITE OUT FRONT, a different playwright will write a new play on a laptop, while the screen shot of their computer is projected onto a 42' monitor facing the passersby on the street, making their normally private creative process public.
