Balagan Theatre recently announced that a trio of Broadway powerhouse artists will star in 'Carrie: The Musical' this fall: Alice Ripley, Kendra Kassebaum, and Keaton Whittaker as Carrie. Balagan Theatre made three major announcements during a packed Season Preview Party at the Moore Theatre on Monday, June 10: 'Nirvanov' as the fifth show in the 2013-2014 mainstage season, a star-studded trio of leading ladies in Carrie: The Musical, and a newly created New Works Program, whose Summer Series debuts July 6.

The smash musical, which received unanimous raves from critics and audiences alike, broke all box-office records at the 47th Street Theatre and won spots on the Top Ten Lists of Time Magazine and the Associated Press, begins its hiatus in order to make room for The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre's own season, as required by the show's lease agreement with the theatre.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is set to honor Christopher Plummer at a gala event tonight, April 15th in New York City. The 13th Annual Monte Cristo Award will be presented to Mr. Plummer by fellow stage and film legend Kevin Spacey. Mr. Spacey was the recipient of the Monte Cristo Award in 2009. Red carpet and cocktails begin at 6:30pm at the Edison Ballroom on West 47th Street, followed by dinner, and a program celebrating the honoree.
