Matthew White's production of Sweet Charity, which completed its sell-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory last month, will open at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on 23 April 2010 with press night on 4 May and is currently booking until 8 January 2011.

The award, established last year in honor of America's most influential contemporary musical theater writer and composer, will be presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy. The 2010 Sondheim Award Gala is chaired by C. Daniel and Juliann Clemente; Honorary Hosts include actresses Catherine Zeta-Jones and Bernadette Peters, philanthropists Helen Henderson and Ted and Mary Jo Shen, and Congressman James Moran and LuAnn Bennett. The Sondheim Award Gala will benefit Signature Theatre's artistic, education, and community outreach programs.

Angela Lansbury will receive the Stephen Sondheim Award in Washington this Monday. In a recent interview with the Washington Post, Lansbury said she had never even considered performing in musicals until being approached by Arthur Laurents and Sondheim for Gypsy.

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park will continue its Marx Theatre season with the world premiere of DADDY LONG LEGS by John Caird, the Tony Award-winning co-director of LES MISERABLES and Tony-nominated composer Paul Gordon, the creator of last season's enchanting musical EMMA. This charming and lighthearted new musical began previews at The Playhouse's Robert S. Marx Theatre March 13. The show concludes its run April 10.
