Broadway In Boston and Producers Broadway Across America - Beth Williams; Howard & Janet Kagan; and Barry Brown have announced that tickets for the upcoming Boston engagement of the highly anticipated Pre-Broadway World Premiere of TUCK EVERLASTING will go on sale to the public this Sunday, March 10th beginning at 10am. This limited three week engagement will play the historic Citi Performing Arts Center Emerson Colonial Theatre July 28-August 18, 2013 and is part of the Lexus Broadway In Boston Series.

Back by popular demand, THE BOOK OF MORMON which played a record-breaking two-week run in January 2013 will return for a limited engagement from July 22 - August 10, 2014 at The Paramount Theatre. Subscribers to the 2013/14 KeyBank Broadway at The Paramount season will have first access to purchase tickets on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 to the return engagement of THE BOOK OF MORMON. A public on sale date is to be determined.

The world premiere production of the new musical TUCK EVERLASTING will play at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Emerson Colonial Theatre (106 Boylston Street) from July 28-August 18, 2013. The pre-Broadway production will feature (in alphabetical order): Fred Applegate (Sister Act) as 'Constable Joe,' Marylouise Burke (Fuddy Meers) as 'Nana,' Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello (Scandalous) as 'Ma Tuck,' David Garrison (Titanic) as 'The Man In The Yellow Suit,' Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Newsies) as 'Jesse Tuck,' Daytime Emmy Award Winner Michael Park (How To Succeed...) as 'Pa Tuck,' Michael Wartella (The Kid) as 'Hugo,' and Valerie Wright (Elf) as 'Mother,' and will introduce Sadie Sink in the role of 'Winnie.' The Tony Award-winning Best Musical of 2005, Monty Python's Spamalot, will return to the fair city of Washington, D.C., for a final one-week only engagement April 10 through 14 at The National Theatre.

It would be easy to be either immediately won over by the hype surrounding this show before ever seeing it, or to be disappointed once you had, because it couldn't possibly live up to it. That's why I go into these things with reasonable expectations. I'm already a fan of Trey Parker and Matt Stone (South Park, Team America, Cannibal! The Musical, etc) and Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, Phineas and Ferb, etc), and I can certainly appreciate the work they did creating the book, music and lyrics for this show, THE BOOK OF MORMON. But, I do think you have to be attuned to their particular brand of humor in order to fully appreciate it. Poking fun at religion is certainly nothing new for any of them, and they've always brought a sense of the conventions of musical theatre to whatever art form they've tackled, and with THE BOOK OF MORMON they've produced something which is both terribly funny and catchy as well.
