Tony Award-Winner Adriane Lenox (After Midnight, Doubt), Tony Award-nominees Anita Gillette (Neil Simon's Chapter Two) & Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde), Drama Desk-nominees Aaron Lazar (LES MISERABLES, A Little Night Music), Patrick Page (Spider Man: Turn Off the Dark, Cyrano, the upcoming Casa Valentina by Harvey Fierstein), Nancy Anderson (Jolson & Company, Wonderful Town, A Class Act), and Jeffry Denman (Yank!, Irving Berlin's White Christmas) were among the many stars to appear in Town Hall's Broadway by the Year Series last night- THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1940-1964. Award-winning theater and cabaret performers Eric Michael Gillett (Sweet Smell of Success, The Frogs, Kiss Me, Kate), Carolyn Montgomery-Forant (MAC/Bistro/Nightlife Awards), Sidney Myer (MAC/Bistro/Mabel Mercer Award-winner,Grandma Sylvia's Funeral) & Drama Desk nominee Jay Rogers (Whoop-Dee-Doo, When Pigs Fly) joined forces to present an evening of sly songs with titillating tunes & lascivious lyrics from the present to days of yore. Sondheim, Flanders & Swann, Coward & Porter mixed with just a dash of Tom Lehrer & even Pete Townshend, Dirty Little Songs was performed with a wink & a nudge by four of cabaret's funniest & most prolific performers. The Amanda McBroom Project, conceived and directed by Eric Michael Gillett and Arthur Masella, with musical direction by Jeff Cubeta is playing at The Laurie Beechman Theatre for 3 nights only, March 14th, 15th & 17th. Starring in the production are, Karen Akers, Aisha de Haas, Terese Genecco, Mandy Gonzalez, Carolyn Montgomery-Forant and Kt Sullivan. Also appearing are Alison Grace Bradbury, Leah Jennings, Eva Kantor, Lauren Stanford, Erin Wegner Brooks and Melanie Vaughan. Karen Akers, Jim Caruso & More Set for Nightlife Awards All-Star Fundraiser, 1/9

In an unusual development, an All-Star concert will take place on January 9th to help raise funds for another All-Star show that will take place just two-a-half weeks later. The first show, 'I Love The Nightlife' will be a 90 minute spectacular that will include a post show party. It will take place at 7 PM on Thursday, January 9th in the Jerry Orbach Theater at the Snapple Center on 50th Street and Broadway (upstairs where The Fantasticks has been playing).

The actress Lauren Stanford pulled off a dramatic win last night, as she became the 2013 MetroStar at the Metropolitan Room in New York. A Kansas City native with musical theatre credits, Stanford edged out her four co-finalists in tight scoring that belied how strong and evenly matched this year's MetroStar Talent Challenge Top 5 had become.

After a highly competitive semi-final round of the 'MetroStar Talent Challenge' at The Metropolitan Room last night, five finalists were picked to move forward in the 7-week singers' competition. The five finalists, who will go head to head next Monday, August 19, are Stephen Mitchell Brown, Venessa Diaz, Jason Morris, Tony Ponella and Lauren Stanford.

Beginning tonight, 75 solo singers are competing in the sixth annual MetroStar Talent Challenge at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street. Hosted by the comic actor-singer Jay Rogers, the seven-week, jury-and audience-voted competition kicks off with three weeks of trials (July 8, 15, 22), after which the Top 18 contestants will advance to the next round.
