The UK premiere of Alfred Hitchcock's supreme comedy of suspense North by Northwest, adapted by Carolyn Burns and directed by Simon Phillips, has just revealed a first look at the cast in action. Following its world premiere in Melbourne, the new stage adaptation of Hitchcock's film will run at Theatre Royal Bath until 12 August, with opening night for press on Monday 31 July. Producer John Frost today announced the casting of the principal roles in Melbourne's summer musical Dream Lover - The Bobby Darin Musical, which plays at Arts Centre Melbourne from December 29th for a strictly limited season. Joining David Campbell who plays Bobby Darin is Hannah Fredericksen playing Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin's wife. Starring alongside them will be Marina Prior, Marney McQueen, Rodney Dobson and Martin Crewes in the extraordinary story of the Grammy award-winning singer and Oscar nominated actor, Bobby Darin.

Artistic Director Jonathan Church's complete programme for Theatre Royal Bath's annual Summer Season is today announced. Church's inaugural season of five plays will open with David Hare's Racing Demons from 21 June, followed by Sand in the Sandwiches by Hugh Whitemore, the UK Premiere of Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, Looking at Lucian by Alan Franks and Alan Bennett's The Lady in the Van.

?Queensland Theatre Company has announced that the critically acclaimed, smash hit and Helpmann-Award winning musical Ladies in Black will tour nationally in early 2017, opening in Sydney on January 3 for its premiere season in the city in which the story is based. The show will then return for an encore season to Brisbane from January 28, before another encore season in Melbourne from February 25, and to Canberra from March 27.

Melbourne Theatre Company's 2016 opening show Ladies in Black has won the coveted Best New Australian Work at the 16th Annual Helpmann Awards.
The production, created by Queensland Theatre Company, written by Carolyn Burns and Tim Finn, and directed by Simon Phillips, launched MTC's 2016 Subscription Season and was a sell-out success. In receiving the Award the creative team stressed the need for, and clear benefits of, thorough development of Australian works.
