The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) has announced the 2017 MAC Award nominees.

Bay Area Cabaret continues its acclaimed series at the Venetian Room at Fairmont San Francisco (950 Mason Street atop Nob Hill) with two special shows in March-one a tribute to cabaret as a distinctive art form, and the other a return engagement for two of the most popular Bay Area Cabaret artists. On March 5 at 5:00 pm, A Cabaret Spectacular will celebrate the art of cabaret performance featuring some of the finest cabaret performers from across the nation. Then on March 26 at 7:30 pm, world-renowned guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli and Broadway soprano Jessica Molaskey, return to the Bay Area Cabaret stage with their brand new hit show from Cafe Carlyle in New York. Songwriter, two-time Jeopardy! Champion and puzzle creator, Tom Toce, has released his second recording, Songwriter in the House, on Retrograde Music. 

New York's renowned musical organization, The Mabel Mercer Foundation, announced today that it will return to the Midwest this spring for the first time since 2006 to present its fourth 'Chicago Cabaret Convention.'

The award-winning songwriters Zina Goodrich and Marcy Heisler brought their vivacious, eclectic, romantic, and seriously funny songbook to Feinstein's/54 Below last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

The Tilles Center for the Performing Arts LIU Post held their Annual Gala Saturday Night.  Following the show featuring The New York Pops with guest artists Megan Hilty and Brian d'Arcy James, the audience was invited to Cabaret With Carole J. Bufford in the Atrium at the venue.

The 27th Annual Cabaret Convention, presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, kicked off on October 18, putting forth performances by some of the most iconic cabaret artists which the arena has to offer, as well as introducing new but equally captivating talent of the art form. Hosted by KT Sullivan, a cabaret stalwart herself, the evening moved briskly through an impressive 19 performers, each of whom was accompanied by their very own pianist--- if they weren't accompanying themselves, that is.

Lovers of Cabaret flocked to New York's Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theatre last night to attend The 27th New York Cabaret Convention and BroadwayWorld was there. Unlike a political convention there was complete agreement that this annual event produced and sponsored by the Mabel Mercer Foundation is one of the best entertainment experiences of the year.  Madam Chairman' and artistic director KT Sullivan kept complete order as one by one the wonderful vocalists made their case to the extremely knowledgeable 'delegates' filling Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center. It's not politically correct to pick winners at the annual event, which presents newcomers and veterans of the cabaret art form, but if there's one......  The Audience!  For two hours they hear some great music and get a potpourri of diverse singing styles that make the long evening seem brief.  The superb song stylist and New York based vocalist Natalie Douglas was deservedly presented the prestigious Donald F. Smith award, and legend Maureen McGovern received the Mable Mercer Award.

Palm Beach County performers brought an audience of more than 650 U.S. travel professionals to its feet on Tuesday night, as the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County presented a spectacle promoting arts and culture in The Palm Beaches to attendees of the 2016 U.S. Travel Association ESTO seminar. The performance, which had the crowd and musicians wearing shades and dancing, included a mash-up of big band sounds, cabaret, dance and Latin percussion by local artists who appear around the world.

Rose Hall, from Tuesday, October 18th through Friday, October 21st  to present four different music programs.
