A few weeks ago on GLEE, Rory (Damian McGinty) sang about being green. In a recent interview, this Glee Project winner revealed his surprise at hearing that he was going to sing a song originally by Kermit the frog.

This fall actress and singer Emily Bergl, star of Broadway, films, and 'Desperate Housewives,' garnered raves from critics and sold out audiences for her debut cabaret at the Oak Room. Stephen Holden of the NY Times declared Ms. Bergl to be 'a natural stage entertainer who suggests a multiple exposure of Carol Burnett, Bette Midler and Madonna, without really resembling any of them' and 'a gust of fresh air that could knock you off your feet.' By popular demand, Ms. Bergl will reprise her cabaret show, 'Kidding on the Square,' for five Monday nights only, November 21 through December 19 at the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel.

The first professional gig on Bill Forrester's resume is Assistant Scenic Designer for a 1959 NY summer stock production starring Gloria Swanson & Groucho Marx. Not a bad start. Fifty two years later, Theatre Puget Sound is thrilled to announce that Bill Forrester will become the 14th individual to receive the illustrious Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award. The award will be presented at the 3rd Annual Gregory Awards Ceremony being held at ACT Theatre on October 17, 2011 as part of ARTS CRUSH month.

In last night's episode of GLEE, Sue started a smear campaign against her rival for the Congressional seat, and the New Directions tackled 'Rumor Has It/Someone Like You,' 'I Can't Go for That/You Make My Dreams,' Hit Me with Your Best Shot/One Way or Another,' 'You and I.' After a triumphant, six-year run on Broadway, AVENUE Q moved to New World Stages, opening there on October 21 and continuing to play to large houses filled with enthusiastic audiences eight times a week. On the occasion of its second anniversary, AVENUE Q played its 835th performance at New World Stages. In the photo below, Rod celebrates Thanksgiving!

In addition to the regular cast, GLEE has featured guest appearances by a wide range of talented performers, including Gwyneth Paltrow (who won the 2011 Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series), Carol Burnett, Kathy Griffin, Cheyenne Jackson, John Stamos, Britney Spears, Kristen Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Molly Shannon, Olivia Newton-John and Neil Patrick Harris, who won a 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on the show. To my knowledge this is the West Coast premiere of Hollywood Arms by Carol Burnett and her daughter the late Carrie Hamilton, based on Burnett's well written best-selling memoir One More Time. There was a reading at the now Carrie Hamilton Theatre of the Pasadena Playhouse a few years back when the theatre switched names, but not a full-fledged production. The Kentwood Players do quite well in bringing the slice-of-life dramedy to life, now onstage at the Westchester Playhouse through December 17.

Time Out NY Lounge will present Jackie Hoffman's A Chanukah Charol, her new holiday-themed, pseudo-autobiographical, one-woman show inspired by Patrick Stewart's A Christmas Carol. Michael Schiralli will direct.
