Charles Busch Set to Lead TEA AT FIVE Reading

Four Things Productions announced today a special one-night-only staged reading of Matthew Lombardo's (High, Looped) one-woman show, Tea at Five, starring the one and only Charles Busch (The Divine Sister, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife) as Katharine Hepburn. The evening, directed by Rob Ruggiero (High, Looped) is set for Monday, November 28th, 2011 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street), and will benefit The Ali Forney Center. Daryl Roth and Carl Siciliano (Executive Director, The Ali Forney Center) will introduce the event.

Tea at Five is an intimate look at Katharine Hepburn, at home, in her Fenwick estate in old Saybrook, Connecticut. The play takes place in 1983 after Hepburn was injured in a car crash. The accident affords the now legendary star an opportunity to reflect on her turbulent childhood, the triumphs and failures of her career and her heart-breaking romance with Spencer Tracy.

Tracy Morgan Meets With Homeless Gay Teens

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, today convened a meeting between actor/comedian Tracy Morgan and LGBT youth from the Ali Forney Center, the nation's largest organization serving homeless LGBT youth.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, today convened a meeting between actor/comedian Tracy Morgan and LGBT youth from the Ali Forney Center, the nation's largest organization serving homeless LGBT youth. Bernhard, Choi to Speak At Union Square Rally In Support Of Homeless LGBT Youth 6/14

On Monday, June 14th at 6:30PM, numerous prominent LGBT and progressive leaders and organizations will come together at a highly anticipated rally at Union Square in support of the LGBT Homeless Youth community. Comedian, singer, actress, and author Sandra Bernhard will speak along with Iraq Combat Veteran and gay rights activist Dan Choi, as well as youth representatives from various organizations serving young LGBT people.

Homeless Shelter for LGBT Youth Defaced with Anti-Gay Graffiti

The Ali Forney Center's newly opened shelter for homeless LGBT youth in Astoria Queens was defaced last night with anti-gay graffiti. At 6am this morning, two of the residents of the shelter discovered the slurs which included; 'We don't want gay people here' written on the exterior of the shelter, and 'Gay Shelter' written on the site's door (see attached JPG).

The Ali Forney Center Will Name New LGBT Residence After Bea Arthur

The Ali Forney Center has announced its plan to name a residence for LGBT youth in honor of Bea Arthur. AFC will formally announced the honor at Arthur's September 14 memorial service. The event will take place at Broadway's Majestic Theater.

On April 28th the Second Annual Broadway Beauty Pageant (formerly titled Mr. Broadway) was held at New World Stages. The winner was Marty Thomas (Mr. Xanadu).
